 Character name: Grete Llaire.
Nickname/Stage name: Grete, the Medium.
Gender: Female.
Age: 25.
Hair color: Chocolate brown.
Eye Color: Icy blue.
Nationality: Looks to be European.
Heirtage: A bit of a mutt, actually.
Height: 5'3"
Weight: N/A. She is underweight, however. 90 pounds or less.
Family:Alexis, mother. [desceased]

- Bernard, older brother, four years older.
Appearance: Pretty, but in sort of a dishelved way. She is very pale, and her hair is always in fat, loose curls, in a chocolate brown color that falls to her shoulders. Her blue eyes are always rimmed and smoky, while her lips are red. She always looks as though she doesn't get enough sleep. She dresses in pretty and vintage dresses, cocktail or not. Usually in an ivory color, with some sort of lace or ornate stitching on it.
Her figure leads one to believe that she is very frail, and that she needs to be taken care of. She is extremely thin, almost to the point of looking a bit unhealthy.
Grete knows her beauty and appeal, and this adds to her confidence.
Sexual Preferance: Straight.
Personality: Grete is a bit of a human contradiction. She forgets things easily, mostly due to drinking. However, she is very crafty and tricky, meaning she is smarter than she lets on. Overall, she tries to be nice to everyone, but sometimes finds it difficult to do so. She finds it hard to start a conversation with someone that she hasn't met before. Grete also can seem a bit narcissistic at times. Despite this fact, she is very smug in her abilities, or her views on things. She isn't afraid to speak her mind, and she doesn't care what others think of her for that. She is conscerned, though, with how people view her on assumptions.
Grete has a bit of an obssession with alcohol. She isn't quite to the level of alcoholism, but she is very well near it. While this habit could get her into trouble, she is more of a silly drunk than anything. She drinks to calm her nerves, and to attempt to drown any negative feelings that she feels.
She can also be a bit jumpy, like she's always got something to hide, even when she's done something good. She is open to meeting new people, but always stands her ground until she knows someone well. Prefers the company of men over women, and has a bit of a weakness when it looks like a man could be interested in her.
In Romantic Relationships: Grete has had many relationships, and has caused many problems in relationships. She needs to be taken care of, and loved. Grete likes to flirt. A lot. So, she'll want someone else who is a flirt. She is very picky, which often leads to her overlooking problems in men that she's met that she wants to be in a relationship. Grete is one that likes to tease when flirting, and that tends to be either seen as very attractive, or just annoying. It mostly falls on the attractive side, though.
Sometimes, though, she falls for those that she really shouldn't. For example, those that are already with someone. Or someone who is generally a bad person.
Interest: Music and the arts. She enjoys singing, and when she was younger, she wished to be a lounge singer.
Talent: Making people believe that she's got a gift for 'ghost speaking'.
Things she'll likely give into: Men (especially those that she connects with or that flatter her), a nice drink or time alone.
Dislikes: Being out of alcohol, being alone romantically, talking about her past, and her family (with the exception of her brother).
Background: Grete is a failure.
Why? Because she's the only one that doesn't posses the skill most commonly used from where she was born. Ghost-talking, spirit-talking, communing with the dead. Well, whatever you want to call it, she doesn't have it. Her entire family tried to hide this fact when she was growing up. Otherwise, one might think she had difficulty with learning anything, which she certainly didn't. But she just couldn't do this. They tried everything: having a seance, bringing over artifacts of dead relatives, taking her to graveyards, but none of it worked.
Once she left her home world, she realized something. No one else would know the Grete didn't posses the skill. Where she found herself now, hardly anyone could do it, and those that could were declared amazing. One day, a circus pulled into town. And Grete had an idea. What if she posed as a dead-talker? A Medium? She came from a respectable family, and the world of the spirits. She also trained as an actress. She could fool them. It would be easy.
And so began her life at the Cirque du Coeur Torve.
Before all of this, though, her past is colorful. She had many lovers, and many were not good people. She left her home at the age of fourteen, with her older brother, Bernard, there to help her support her. She worked at many places, none of which held her for very long. She didn't keep in touch with anyone in her family other than Bernard, as they didn't care for Grete.
She did what she could to get food, a place to stay, and money. Most of the time, she relied on men to support her. Eventually, she got into a long-term relationship with a man named Aaron. According to Grete, he was a terrible man, and her brother helped her get out of that relationship. She's very touchy about the subject, though, and doesn't like to speak of it at all.
Deep Dark Secret~ Truth about Aaron is, he was abusive. And he actually scared Grete. She didn't know what to do, or who to turn to. He made her feel weak, and as if everything was her fault. She hadn't joined Cirque at this time, but had met him in one of the towns she had visited. They began a long-term relationship, which eventually turned into this.
So, Grete asked for help from the one person that she would trust her life with. Her brother, Bernard, came to her aid, and together, they tried to decide on how to get Grete away from Aaron. Bernard had decided, being as protective of his little sister as he is, that he would try to scare Aaron, and then go to the police. So, as Bernard left to go and talk to Aaron, Grete stayed in his house for the day. She remembered that Bernard had once bought a gun when living in a particularly unsavory neighborhood. This thought lingered in her mind as she stayed in his home.
Grete found an old shoe of her brother's. She remembered that, when they were growing up, he always hid everything in his shoes. In the shoe now was a small key, one that unlocked the drawer in which the gun stayed for safe keeping. Grete turned the small brass key around and around in her hand, and she bit her lip, deep in thought.
Bernard had already gone to the police, and they decided that they would go ahead to the house where Aaron lived. By the time they had gotten inside, he was dead. Simply shot three times. The police soon suspected Bernard, but the alibi, along with the analysis of the body, checked out, and he was allowed to go. Since then, the case has gone cold. Grete learned about a circus that was hiring a few towns over. She packed her bags and left, without saying a word to anyone.
When it happened, Grete didn't feel guilt or remorse. That all struck her later. At the time, she simply felt free. She remembered how he looked at her when she walked into his house the first time, the gun placed in her small, dainty purse. He came closer to her, and Grete quickly got it out. He stared at her in disbelief, and asked, "Baby, what do you think you're doing?"
She stared back at him, a long, intense stare, and replied softly while shaking her head, "Don't call me baby." Grete felt as if killing him was the smartest thing she had done since getting involved with him. She was free, and he was dead.
This has long since past, and doesn't dwell in her mind all the time, as it once did. Despite this, it has taken a toll on Grete emotionally, and she is very sensitive about the subject. The only person that knows what she did aside from her brother is Aiden. He threatened to fire Grete, and turn her in, but he didn't. Only since mediums are so popular right now.

Grete's Home
Her trailer is extremely cluttered. She tends to leave all of her dirty clothes over the floor, and doesn't pick them up until she washes them. She's got a few cabinets (for holding things like plates, glasses and liquor) and a dresser to hold her clothing. Also has a large full-length mirror in her possession. A couch is placed on one wall, with a coffee table infront of it.
There is also a small black cat that comes by her trailer every once-in-a-while that she feeds and takes care of. She calls him Oedipus.
