gah, the most annoying thing is that "those people" in harajuku aren't at all impressive in person, and what's more is that there's hardly any of them.
interesting looking people are VERY few and few between here.
seriously, magazine photographers must have to stand around on the streets for weeks to find enough people with interesting outfits to fill a magazine.
when you actually get here, what seemed good about japan will be forgotten in a matter of weeks. there's nice clothes and food, yeah, woo~h!11! not.
when you have to live here, it soon becomes the same as any other place.
and the attention you get for being foreign is not fun, and an become annoying very easily. especially when it is actually racism.
I just laugh at japanophiles for now, really, they are wasting their time, money and effort on something which is in fact a lie.
I used to look at lolitas in magazines and think 'wow, they look so elegant and pretty', but in fact here most of them are fat and ugly, and actually just disgust me.
the only people here that manage to impress me are proper himegyaru, becuse to look like the girls at jesus diamante takes a heck of a lot of work and I totally respect them for that.
most of the 'unique' factor of japanese fashion that makes it seem interesting, when you get here, you realise it is actually that most people just have no particular style, and wear anything, or copy someone else.
