Since this is my first child I don't have any experience as far as planning a baby-shower. I've already sent out the invites two weeks ago for this saturdays shower and next saturdays shower. The first one is being hosted by my church so it's going to be a lot of old ladies and older friends of the family. The second one I am doing at my house for my friends. For my whole life I've bonded with guys better then i have with girls so I have a lot of guy friends who woud want to be included in the event, without the uncomfortable atmosphere I know it will be with the one at the church.
I think we have all of the food we need but what i'm more worried about is what am I going to do for entertainment. We're expecting around 15 to show, so i feel a few games are in store. What did you ladies do at your shower?
The second shower I want to be more of a party then a 'shower'; music, food, I've got around 20 people who have said they will show, maybe more. Again I do not know what I going to do besides that. I guess I'm saying I really need some sudgestions.

Typically it is not the expectant mother who throws the baby shower so I've never actually planned one.
Munkey made a thread with a whole lot of shower game ideas here.

Thanks jenannen, some of those games gave me some good ideas. I had tried to look for a simular thread rather then posting a new one, I guess i missed the archives.

ok, so this shower wen t over very well and was lots of fun. Because my next one is a co-ed i needed some games the guys will do. I've gotten 6 regular cheap bottles and I going to fill them with their choice of energy drink. 3 girls verses 3 guys, and we'll see who chuggs down their bottle the fastest. another game i want to do is team up in pairs and have one partner feed nasty baby food to the other who ever eats it the fastest wins of coarse. I just need decent prizes to go with that game. At least they are better then trying to see how many TP squres fit around my waist. xp

Alright Mom, I'm bumping this thread up so you can click on the link to Munkey's thread.
Maybe somone else will have other ideas to help you with planning the shower as well.

Movie coupons are always good prizes, regardless of family status or gender. Nice teas are also good - heck, make it herbal raspberry leaf tea, which is supposed to help ease labor pains (it tastes good too).
I was going to suggest as a game having diapers to put on baby dolls - fastest one to change the baby wins. Give the guys some practice... wink
