I'll be in Japan in less then 7 months. I'll be staying there for at least a year. I might stay longer. Who knows. I'd like to finish a year there and maybe start my first year of college there. And I'm seriously thinking about living there. Lots of job opportunites there. I'm very excited. blaugh

Come this May I'll be living in Japan for three months. And I, for one, am terrified. It's not the language barrier so much as the culture barrier. I don't get it. And no amount of study will prepare me for it, I fear. Plus the idea of spending all of my time around a language other than English. . . this is more than spending time at my Dutch grandmother's house; at least when I'm there I can speak English to my parents. Here I'll be surrounded by Japanese, with almost no other English-speakers around me. It's terribly frightening, I don't know what to do.

some good places to go are: Ichiya-jo (gifu-ken) Shibuya-ku (Toyko-ken/Tokyo-shi) Hiroshima-shi Miyajima
I think that Izumo would be a good place to go too, but i haven't been there... the last time i wuz in Japan, i spent most of the time in Kansai (Kyoto/Osaka -> southwest), and just a little time in the Kanto plane (Tokyo).

Shikoku16 1koza Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. They paid for my ticket, gave me an apartment to live in and the rest was cake. I worked at 8 schools and was able to travel a lot. that's great!! Is that program available in any specific Exchange agency?? I would love to find something like that! how would one such as myself get on such programs?

I really want to check out the imperial palace and a few of the temples. Someone suggested a program where you can stay with a japanese family. it sounds awsome , anyone else heard of it?

Father's job for me too, kind of. My mother had been dreaming of returning to Japan for a long time already, so when father got the job, we moved. The Japanese medical science is also very advanced, so my sister is getting the best treatment possible. ^-^ ☆
So, I'm living here as a normal student (I don't go to any public school, though). The area where I live in isn't anything all that impressive (the sakura trees are always very pretty here, though), so I think I'd suggest going to Osaka or the inner Tokyo if you want to see cool places. Food in Osaka is very interesting, I recommend trying it out. X3 And if you want to see gorgeus views, I think Mt. Takao is one of the best places for that, especially if you like hiking. ☆
