oh dear goodness yes. it's not particularly a"band" ritual... more like a low-brass, saxophone, and french horn ritual.
we all get in a huddle after sectionals and do "The Runnin Man"
that's the unofficial name. it includes... the running man the heart attack the heel-toe and finishes up with a round of "hands on ya knees" and a booty pop.
it's been going on for YEARS. lol. :]

our drum major used to do this weird thing before halftime... she'd put out her fist and wiggle her pinky and index finger, and we would do it back while she said something like: "may two spiraling missiles light your way".

In our band, each section has its own cheer: The flutes (That's me): We do this creepy, high pitched thing that I call a "squee". All of us do it, except this one girl who just rolls her eyes smile She loves us The clarinets: They yell "Clarinets, DO THIS!" I'm not sure what this means. The trumpets: They yell something incoherent razz The saxophones: They all get together and yell "SAXOPHONES" in a weird voice The low brass (discluding the trombones): they do some stupid little dance The trombones (my personal favorite): They say "Boners, boners are the best, boners, better then the rest" It's so funny.
Then there's huddles after each practice and before each game/competition where we yell our band cheer. Making fun of the cheerleaders from the band section. Watching our BD make fun of the cheerleaders. Playing Soul Finger (a long story, but I still love it). So many stories, and just fun, good times

oh dear. you are going to think we're crazy.
Ok before compititions there are three things we ususally do.
ok the first are plume kisses in out section.
second we have to bow down to our directors father's mitch matched socks. (there is a sotry behind that.)
Third our tenor in the drumline, Scuba has to chew and swallow our directors gum wrapper. We all pretend to chew with him.
yeah I told you, weird stuff.

In the clarinet sections, our section leaders call us to attention and they come around and tap their clarinet bell on ours... it's weird, but so are we. xD

Clarinets go around and kiss their hands then place it over other people's logos on our uniform while saying, "Good luck," to every person.
