1) Intro
Welcome to Maple Story. Since you have chose the Bowman Class, here is a guide that will help you make a successful Bowman/CrossBowman. The difference between the 2 is not a lot to me, but makes them both fun to use. Now I will talk about the builds later on in this guide so just be patient.
2) Pros and Cons of an Archer
Pros:
Long Range
Good Accuracy
Somewhat Stable Damage
Cons:
Needs Arrow to attack(Until Soul Arrow)
No short range attacks
Takes awhile to train
3)Skills and Ability Point Builds
Skills of the Archer 1st Job
Blessing of the Amazon
Increases Accuracy
Max lvl 16
Eye of the Amazon
Increases range of attack for both bow and crossbow
Pre-requisite The Blessing of the Amazon Lvl 3
Max Lvl 8
Critical Shot
Allows you to perform a Critical attack with a certain success rate.
Max Lvl 20
Focus
Temporarily increases Accuracy and Avoidability
Pre-requisite The Blessing of the Amazon lvl 3
Max lvl 20
Arrow Blow
Fires an arrow with authority. Applies more damage than usual.
Max lvl 20
Double Shot
Fires two arrows at once to attack an enemy twice.
Pre-requisite Arrow Blow lvl 1
Max lvl 20
Now the build I used looks like this.

lvl 11: 2 Blessing of the Amazon, 1 Eye of the Amazon
lvl 12: 3 eye of the Amazon
lvl 13: 3 Eye of the Amazon
lvl 14: 1 Eye of the Amazon MAXED, 2 Critical Shot
lvl 15: 3 Critical Shot
lvl 16: 3 Critical Shot
lvl 17: 3 Critical Shot
lvl 18: 3 Critical Shot
lvl 19: 3 Critical Shot
lvl 20: 3 Critical Shot MAXED
lvl 21: 1 Arrow Blow, 2 Double Shot
lvl 22: 3 Double Shot
lvl 23: 3 Double Shot
lvl 24: 3 Double Shot

Now this is what it looks like.

And remember this build is for both Bowman and Crossbowman.
Ability Point Build
All you need to raise as a Bowman/Crossbowman is Strength and Dex
Your Strength should always be 5 above your lvl. But as for Crossbowmen Str should be at your lvl.
lvl 10: STR 15 Dex as high as it can.
lvl 15: STR 20 Dex as high as it can.
lvl 20: STR 25 Dex as high as it can.
lvl 25: STR 30 Dex as high as it can.
lvl 30: STR 35 Dex as high as it can.

Lvl 10-15 Henesys Hunting Ground
Lvl 15-20 Pig Beach, or Perion
Lvl 20-25 Ant Tunnel or PQ

Now that you have made it to Lvl 30 and bcame hunter, it is time we talk the serious talk now.

1) The Skills and skill build
Bow Mastery
Increases the Bow Mastery and Accuracy. It only apllies when a Bow n hand.
Max Lvl 20
Final Attack Bow
With a certain success rate, another attack follows after performing an attacking skill. Only works with a bow in hand.
Max Lvl 30
Pre-requisite: Bow Mastery Lvl 3
Bow Booster
Uses HP and MP to temporarily boost up the attacking speed of the bow. It only works with a bow in hand.
Max Lvl 20
Pre-requisite: Bow Master Lvl 5
Power-Knock Back
Improves the success rate of knocking back the enemies far when swinging the bow. The higher the level, the higher the number of enemies the character can knock down.
Max Lvl 20
Soul Arrow: Bow
Temporarily allows the character to fire bow arrows without using up the arrows. Only works with a bow in hand.
Max Lvl 20
Pre-requisite: Bow Booster Lvl 5
Arrow Bomb
Fires arrows with bombs attached to it. If struck cleanly, the bomb explodes on the enemy, knocking out some of the enemies around with a certain success rate. Can't attack more than 6 at once, and it only works with a bow in hand.
Max Lvl 30

This currently is my build that im working on with my hunter. Its working for me right now so it should be the same for you.
2) Training Spots
Lvl 31-35: Teddys or Ant Tunnel
Lvl 36-40: Panda Teddys or Ludi PQ
Lvl 41-45: Chronos or Ludi PQ
Lvl 46-50: Platoon Chronos or Ludi PQ
Lvl 51-55: Stone Golems or Jr Yetis
Lvl 56-60: Stone Golems or Hectors
Lvl 61-65: Dark Stone Golems or Coolie Zombies
Lvl 66-70: Dark Stone Golems, Coolie Zombies, or White Pangs
3) Etc . . .
Tips:
-Training from a ledge where monsters cant hit you is a great way to train.
-Training with friends in a party of 6 is the best way to train, so make friends that are active. You will see the exp coming way faster.
- And remember to have fun while playing MS and dont be a jerk!

until u get to lvl 15 the bow is weak. really the war bow (the blue one) is weak literally weak.

Wow, that's an odd first job skill distribution, order-wise. xD Not getting Arrow Blow or DS until that late.
Mine was something like this (Not 100% sure of the order since it was a while ago):
- 1 point in Arrow Blow.
- 3 points in Blessing.
- 3 points in Eye of the Amazon.
- Max DS and Critical (Alternating levels; 2 DS, 1 critical, then 2 critical, 1 DS)
- Max Eye of the Amazon.
- Remaining points into Blessing.
Builds are up to the individual, of course. o.O I chose the money-burning, higher damage route.
Also, you're incorrect on the stat distribution for Crossbowmen; They should keep their Str equal to their level. For Hunters, it's 5 above. :3

Mm. For the Cons, you might want to
change the arrows thing.
If you add your skill points to Soul, then
you wouldn't need arrows.
