When Vlad the Impaler stuck people on giant wooden spikes, they were usually still alive, and as they were dragged down by their own body weight, they slowly and agonizingly died.

I just did a project on Vlad. It was cool. Except when we tried to present it the bulb in the projector blew up and the teacher forgot about letting us finish.
I think we got an A on it anyways. Ahahaha. XD

We were doing a history project in MATH CLASS about buildings. And so I picked his castle, and I talked about Vlad IN the project (which I never got to explain to the teach, but oh well)
We talked about the sticks thing and also how he forced his political enemies to build his castle. It made me giggle how horrified people can get when we bring people like Vlad up.

Of all the different impalling techniques, Vlad's is my favorite.

Egyptians, tied up and pushed forward on the spike.

Assyrians, up teh bum

Vlad, through the back and high up.

Anyone read the original Dracula? It saddens me to see people who have a love for those not dead but haven't read the classic. Good stuff. In fact, I'll start a thread on it.

XD I haven't read the origional book, but I did ask for some stuff on Vlad for Xmas. It's probably under the tree right now =O
The only book I read was fiction and it was really good on talking about Vlad until the girl was like "I wanna be in the story DDD<" and basically wrote herself into the script. It was weird and dumb. -__-

It's recently become a bit obvious to me that I, unconsciously, use emotional suffering to force myself to come to liberating realizations about myself and the nature of reality. Now that I think about it, when it comes to who I am, emotional suffering is really the best thing to cause me to come such understandings. I can use positive emotional and mind-states, and reach other conclusions which are profound and meaningful, but the realizations that are born out of despair are really liberating, to me.

And so, I've begun to view emotional suffering in a new way. I do not actively seek to inflict it upon myself, because it's not at all enjoyable, but when it happens, if I can just remember this bit of understanding or clarity, then it'll make it that much easier to work with.

I think out of all of the painful things that can happen to you, emotional seems to be the worse for me.

I agree. Emotional pain goes deep and it lingers.

Do you ever cause yourself pain? Yes
Does certain pain make you feel dead or more alive? Yes, stabbing makes me feel more alive.
How do you relieve yourself from pain, or what do you do to make it happen? I p***k/scratch/stab myself with needles.
