Darvien got a call, and flipped the cellphone up and listened to it.
"You better pray I don't. you better hope to any and all gods past and present. because if I find you, I'm going to teach you all new definitions of pain and suffering."
looking at Nic.
"he gave me the nursery rhyme for humpty dumpty. said when I figure out what it means to call him and see if we can work something out. anyone got any ideas on what that might mean?"
already loading everyone in the cars, and on the way to the Locker.

"Humpty Dumpty...I knew he was crazier than he let on." Rolling his eyes and then thinking it over a moment before shaking his head. "No idea...I'm not good with nursery rhymes. First things first, let's meet with our cohorts then find someplace to wait out the sun and start fresh."

Aleksy chuckled long and low at that then snapped the phone shut and tossed it on the desk. "Hotheaded just like I predicted." Steepling his fingers for a moment, he picked up the small tube before him and opened it, studying the harmless looking object inside. Standing, he walked over by Masika and gave her hanging form a smile. "Your fledges are attempting to find you. That should please you, immensely, Mother." The word was uttered mockingly and he held up the tube. "My, my Masika. You look like you could use a little more lipstick. Why don't I take care of that for you?" Spinning the bottom of the tube so that the special silver-laced cosmetic raised itself and then he poised it right around her cheek. "Perhaps a nice pair of lips right here? Or maybe you'd prefer a kiss on your forehead?" Giving an amused chuckle, "Come now, I'm your husband. I can kiss you wherever I want..."

"There' a method to the madness. there has to be. if he was plain insane, he'd never be able to take mother."
But they got to the Locker, and Darvien before stepping out of the car rearranged himself back to his normal appearance. everyone was there now. Thalia, Lynx, and all of Masika's children.
though the tension between Darvien and Lynx was taunt, both of them only sat down across from eachother.
Lynx looked at those present, and gave a slight nod.
"I've locked down everything I can. A Russian Czar can still get out, due to diplomatic immunities, but he will have to use it to leave. so while he may slip the noose, he'll certainly leave a trail. But the real issue is who turned him, or who is ghouling him."
Darvien nodded lightly.
"There's no way a mortal could detain her on his own against her will. we've been receiving ashen remains from russia. all of mother's loyals. there has to be someone trying for the Russian throne. someone that can empower a mortal or turn one to with enough raw power to stand against mother."
a shake of his head.
"But if they wanted her dead, they'd have done it. and our kind don't play games with fire unless we have to."
"Agreed. which means a few things. either our Czar is hatching his own plans for Masika, or there is someone with a longer term planning. Ancients like us tend to avoid one another. our power is great, and conflicts can move nations in way we can't predict. Stability is a godsend for immortals. I've had my children monitoring the eurpoean and asian areas through thier own connections, but we're not finding anything like a revolt in russia."
his attention turned to the other of Masika's brood.
"Does she have any native enemies. someone that wants her out of the way, or someone that wants to make her suffer. that could be a motive. lets be honest, Darvien. your a man of actions, not words. anyone that has been around you longer than six months knows this. they may be planning to have you do what your doing now, in hopes to make Masika suffer your death or deaths. a systematic crushing of her heart. take her fledglings away, and then her precious Russia."
"No one that I know has that kind of stomach to take on mother. But europe and asia have been primarily under Chiyo and Nic. Gavin keeps and eye in england, but he still reports to Nic I imagine. and little Alesky is in for a rude awakening. he may think he figured out mother and the rest of us. but what he knows isn't everything. he focused on us, but he's still a fledgling to our culture. already the hounds are hunting. I've let it slip that the russian czarina is one of ours. but not her age. I imagine an fledgling looking to increase thier political affiliations is looking for her. but not to find Alesky...just to find her. I'm hoping someone will come across something that Alesky didn't think of, because he's expecting us to come guns blazing."

Damnable silver was making her all whoosy and blah feeling. Oh if she was level headed right now she would be snapping his neck and ripping him limb from limb. Yes that would make her day, that would make her feel oh so good. But right now...all she could do was listen and try to make sense of things till she was more capable...he had to sleep sometime and he couldn't watch her constantly. She'd like to get out a message to her fledglings and tell them to just sit back for the moment...she knew they wouldn't. "Waste..." The rest getting lost in a mumble as she tried to set a glare on him. "Aleksy...please..." Maybe she could reason out some things with his, despite her limited capability to. What was she asking him anyway?
He was quiet, elbows on the table and brooding somewhat as he tried to think through things. He didn't care of the things that were happening between the two rivals at the table, his only concern was Masika. "We know one thing...something happened in Russia, we just don't know what."
Chiyo was polite enough to give Thalia a smile and a bow, seeing at they were indeed the only women there. But for the moment she sat and listned to the two go back and forth among each other. For two who were supposed to not be able to stand each other, they were doing pretty well right now. "I don't think his goal is to hurt her or take her throne from her. We wouldn't be taunted if they were simple goals."
He turned a look to Thalia as well...almost half expecting Calin to show up. He had a knack for that. But he choose to stood for the moment, arms crossed and obviously not too happy. He did snicker to himself, talk to himself more than anyone else, "Such meeting circumstances..."

He shook his head and glared at her, then backhanded her hard against her cheek, rings and all. "Don't you ask me anything you conniving b***h. You had your chance for mercy while I stood faithfully at your side and agreed to be completely open and honest with you and I always was. Till death do us part, I will honor you with my body, mind nad soul. Remember, Czarina? Our union was blessed and you were lying to me the whole entire time!" His face twisted until he looked quite deformed and he turned and threw the lipstick across the room. "Why? Why?! All I ever asked from you was honesty!"
Thalia frowned, listening as Lynx and Darvien went back and forth and very nearly rolled her eyes. "If he's a fledgling. You cannot just bust in there and start ripping people part if he's being ghouled. And you two are grossly underestimating someone that we know very little about. The authority on this is not the two of you but Nicolai. He lived and worked side by side with the Czar and Czarina and he would be more attuned to the way the Czar thinks." Turning to him, "Nicolai, my grandmother adores you and she's told you many things that she won't tell another. Does she have a deep secret that might provoke one to come after her? Something in her past that could be used against her? How did she treat the Czar? After all, when I was treated like nothing more than a servant, I ran away. Plotting revenge crossed my mind and bringing down the one who had caused me so much pain was right up there at the top of the list." Refusing to even glance at Darvien. "Is he just a scorned lover? Or is this a political conflict?"

Lynx waved away the details.
"It's often a very simple motivation. instead of digging around for hidden agendas and dark secrets, lets look at the simple things."
leaning back.
"If he's a fledge straight from the get go, then he's entirely new to this world from our perspective. he's still mortal enough to have human reactions to things that those of us who've lived for several centuries or more aren't bothered by. Like for example, deceit for the sake of survival. Imagine you loved your wife or husband, only to find out much later that you are little more then a passing thought to them. maybe something close to a pet. and that your lover is immortal, has been immortal for a millenia or so, and never told you, nor offered it to you. Might make one upset."
laying his hand on the table.
"If he's been a ghouled, then he may be affected by the Blood Bond. Doing his master's bidding with all the fervor and desire of the blood, with the added bonus of being particularly upset with his wife by the aforementioned reasons. that's the thing here we need to know."
turning his attention to Nic.
"and for that we need the answers to the questions Thalia posed to you. her enemies, any dark secret lovers, any old vampiric flames that may feel scorned enough to try and use her present pet has thier version of poetic justice."
Darvien listened and nodded a bit.
"Again, that's Nic's department. most of us only reported to mother if asked or an a schedule. But if his grievance is with mother alone, then why bring all of us into it. all five of us are more then enough for any fledgling, even one that can manhandle mother, simply because we know what we can do. he probably barely has a grasp on the power that is potentially at his disposal."

“Those vowels never included honesty Alexsy. You, as a human, just assumed that they did. That was your folley.” Wincing a little at the silver that was still making her life hell and he was adding in the physical abuse on top so that her healing was taking longer than usual or not at all. She laughed lightly. “So you go to such lengths to preach honesty….tell me my dear husband…are you happier this way? Both of us immortals? Could you ever truly love me and yourself as well now? You were mortal for a reason.”
Nicolai shook his head to Thalia. “No, no scecret of such magnitude. She keeps little to no secrets for the reason that they could just be used against her. As for Alexsy…he was treated more of as a lap dog than anything. She doesn’t love him, but he at least thinks she does. She’s never been particularly affectionate with him either. He’s kept comfortable in both his assumptions, his keeping, and his thinking. As with all the others. I don’t think there’s anything political to it though. The people are happy with how Masika runs things. Or at least there haven’t been any revolutions.” Frowning though at Lynx as he wanted to glance at only pieces of the picture and not the whole thing.
“If he’s ghouled it would have to be someone from around your,” pointing to Lynx, “General age group or higher. Everone knows Masika is no push over in power and age, so then the ghouler would have to have immense influence. But the people in her life are as remote as Russia herself. Five fledglings of her direct blood, she’s partial to Thalia, and Alexsy fits into her illusions she needs. Soon enough she’ll,” quoting the air here “ ‘Be with child and on bedrest’. Start of another cycle where ‘the Czarina’s child looks so much like her mother’. Of course no one would see that child until she is grown and Masika falls under a new identity and keeps her position.
“Because dear brother…Mother cares for us five above all others. It’s akin to holding a wolf’s pup over a well and threatening to drop it as the wolf is chained up just inches away from being able to grab it from danger. Poke at us and he riles her…taking out her coven he riles her…he goes around the mountain rather than go over it to gain her ire and make her careless or over confident in her responses.”

Lynx gave a nod.
"there are few our age, and fewer that are active. So we'll have to go with the ideal that he's a young fledge, and is doing this for his own reasons. however, he knows about you five. knows you well enough to set this up, and knows you well enough to keep her hidden from your talents, and from her mental calls. he can obvious physically contain her. This all points to someone at least the age of Nicolas. He's studied, adn whomever is his sire is powerful enough to be dangerous to all of us."
drumming his fingers.
