Yes. I know that she was "in love" with Edward. But jumping off a cliff just to hear his voice is a little pathetic. And she did get a little annoying when all she would talk about was Edward, and Bleh. A little bit too obsessive.
I still gotta love her though. x3

VampireBond I hated Bella, but not for that. Edward left her and she goes to hang out with Edward's enemy! Doesn't she love Edward? Why do that? I was so mad, and Jacob isn't even as good as Edward. THere is no point on being with Jacob... Well Duhr. Jacob is Bella's Best Friend. If she stays with Jacob, it's for the FRIENDSHIP. Jacob doesn't have to be as good as Edward. He's Jacob a Werewolf, not Edward the Vampire. [ it says it on the back of the book x3 ]

no i didn't start hating her because i would cry too, but the rejection when he asked her to marry him didnt make sense to me because in the first book she asks him if there ever going to get married and he says no (not in those words but thats what it was)

I did not begin to hate Bella, but I do admit there was a moment of annoyance. But once I began to think of what she had to endure I understood why she was "complaining" if we can even call it that. Her whole world had just got up and left her thinking that it would help her rather than almost kill her. Then she started to care for Jacob as more than friends, and began to feel guilty for this. She knew that Edward wanted her to move on, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. Then when he walked back into her life and asked her to marry him, she was torn between her heart and mind. As much as she loved him there were still some trust issues there. See I don't think she was complaining at all but going through a very difficult sitution in her life. She had the right to say and feel all that she felt.

I'm somewhat of a Bella fan, but I did have some WTF moments while reading New Moon.

Hah, yes. Very much so. It was very... overplayed and exagerated in Meyer's writings how distraught Bella was. During that whole time Bella was brooding, I wasn't feeling bad for her, which isn't a good sign since I thought it was the writer's objective to convey the feelings of the protagonist especially in the story. And it is in first person. C'mon, now. Sometimes being a bit more subtle says a lot more. Bella was just too cookie-cutter during those parts.
"Oh! Edward left me! I should be extremely depressed now! Commencing depression state!" And so on.
Don't take this the wrong way though. If Bella was like, "whatev, yo Mike!" I'd have to slap a hoe then. D< It's prefectly fine and reasonable to feel depressed, but when it comes off unnaturally,prolonged, and immature then there's something wrong. Bella didn't even consider why he left after a suitable period of grieving. She was acting really immature about love. I guess since she's a teenager, she doesn't know much. Even if Edward was her first and true love, she shouldn't have a mind set that the world is Edward from that point on. No. Love is not about making someone your oxygen and reason for living literally.
Ugh. I'd go on, but this is getting me frustrated.

It was actually Eclipse when I started hating Bella. xd It's just, everything she did with Jacob... she hurt him so bad. I may not be Team Jacob, but still, she was sorta leading him on... :/

Elimination Mecha Picture this. You're dating the most gorgeous guy in the world and he dumps you. But not only does he dump you, but he removes everything about him from your life as if he had never existed. I think I would pine away like that too. And if I could hear Edward's voice by jumping off of a cliff ... I would do it in an instant (but it would be a smaller cliff than the one Bella jumped off of). You have to look at it from her perspecive. Edward was her life in Forks, and then he was gone. How do you deal with that? It's not something you can get over within a few weeks, or months. Ditto on what she said. Also, the whole reason Bella stuck around Forks wasn't just for her friends and father, but Edward played a major role in her staying. I can sorta relate to Bella on her hate of everything cold and wet, although I do like rain storms. Only I would also jump of a cliff into the ocean; but it wouldn't be in the middle of a brewing storm, to hear a guys voice, or anything else, it would be for the thrill of it.
