// What should I do... // Waya thought as he stared up at the moon. Just minutes ago he had woken and found his body was, well, stolen. The one person, ok the one wolf that he depended on had betrayed him. It wasn't something he could easily comprehend. All those days and nights together, all just to earn his trust. All for nothing .... It just didn't seem fare.

He would have cried if he could, though he just stared at the moon with a sullen look upon face. He knew, should he go home, no one would hear nor see him. What would be the point? Neshoba had won... Magic beyond his own skills had been used, he could never duplicate it in his favor.

Giving a sigh, he turned his head away from the moon. It was no longer a comfort. Golden eyes settled onto a tree to his side, watching as the wind blew the leaves. Would he ever feel the wind again? He couldn't even feel the ground he laid upon. It was frustrating, but a realization that this spiritual thing wasn't that easy. // So... Great. What am I supposed to do now?// He asked himself against, searching the darkness for an answer that wouldn't come.

Or would it?

...

Nope.

Unable to shake the abandoned feeling from himself, the boy continued to sit there, arms wrapped around his body. What was he supposed to do? The situation was so out of his hands he felt as if he could just break down and cry!

// You're not going to just sit there are you? That really will get you no where fast ya know... // The sudden voice was enough to cause Waya to jump, the boy glancing around for the source. That small bit of searching would have him face to face with a rather stunning white horse. She stood much taller than himself of course, long white hair falling over her neck. She was beautiful, for a horse at least. // Waya, you have no time to stare at me. Do you want your body back or not? //

Dumbly, Waya gave a nod. // Yes... I want my body back. But how do I get it? //

The horse snorted, stomping her foot down upon the ground. // Take action now, ask questions later! Don't you children know anything?! Get on. // With such an order given, the boy didn't need to be asked twice as he hopped right up onto her back. She seemed quite content by that, and took off into the woods.

Feeling the need to say something, Waya would lean down closer to her ear, speaking nervously. // Is now a good later? How are we supposed to find him? He's probably long gone by now... I have no idea how long I was unconscious for. //

Laughing, the horse just shook her head. // You were probably asleep no more than 15 minutes. Honestly I could have stopped him, but then how would you learn anything? Yes, I can tell you're pissed I didn't stop him by how hard you're tugging my hair. But it was with good intention I assure you.

// Alright... But one more question. How do you know who I am? What is it I should call you? Why are you even helping me? //

// That was three questions. But, I know who you are because our fates are intertwined. In the past you have called me Precious, we will stick with that. And as for why I'm helping you.... Let's just say it's repaying a debt I owe. Either way, I couldn't leave you on your own. This is a battle you will make with yourself. Listen not to your heart, but to the call of nature. You have a gift, use it. Now, stop yammering on to me and concentrate! Ask the trees to show us the way. They will help... Trust me on that. //

Again the boy would only nod, this time allowing his eyes to close as he tried to calm himself. With his spirit so free it was a lot easier to in tune himself to nature. Please..... Show us the way. He asked not from his lips but his heart. As those golden eyes began to open, he would quickly note how tree branches dipped and bowed as if pointing them where to go. Laughing at the fact he had done it, Waya bounced a bit on his seat. He was still a child at heart, even if he was maturing in age.

Heading down the path shown to them, the horse kicked up her pace. // He can't be much further from here. Though when we do find him, you realize what you must do? You need to tame the animal in any way possible, Waya. Do not let him get the best of you. I have no doubt you will win, you have something he doesn't have. The power to unite man and nature. //

Giving a nod, Waya mentally agreed to her words. He would over come this, other wise what good was he? Smiling, and feeling as if he could take on the world, those golden eyes locked on ahead of them. Seconds would turn to minutes, and in an instant the trees parted into a clearing. There in the center was Neshoba, surrounded by vines as he struggled to free himself.

Slipping down from the horse, Waya strode right towards the man, fists balled tightly. // I want my body back! I've come for what belongs to me! //

Neshoba had stilled his actions when he seen the two enter the clearing. He looked at the horse and gave a faint nod of acknowledgement before his attention turned to Waya. "Oh? Well then.... Take it if you can."

Two men stood face to face, a crossroad to destiny. Who would win? Only time would tell... And that time was short to come. Within minutes the battle was quickly moving in Neshoba's favor. Was Waya just to weak? The only thing he could figure out by that point was pain.

Even without a body he could definitely feel the pain of this battle. It was surely starting to be a long night as both Waya and Neshoba fought between the two. Apparently Neshoba had paid more attention to those shaman lessons than Waya had! And that damn Precious! She wasn't doing a damn thing to help him! Though it was his battle to fight after all, but this really was ... Unbelievable!

Laying flat on his back, Waya panted for breath as he watched the passing clouds via moonlight. Then, from beside him was Neshoba's mocking voice ringing in his ears. "Had enough? Shame, it was finally beginning to be fun! You can't even stand..."

Growling, the boy would prove that wolf wrong as he pulled himself to his feet. // I won't... let you get.. Away with th- // unfortunately for himself, he was back down on his back as Neshoba sent yet another powerful blast of astral energy at him. At least he wasn't breaking bones, just losing his strength rapidly...

Groaning, Waya again pulled himself up to his feet. He barely had any strength left, he had to think of something and fast! // It'll get interesting now.... That.. I... I promise. Plus... I'll have.. my body.. back.. // A glint of light would catch his eyes as an item fell by his feet. Looking down he seen the pendant that was given to him at his birth. Where the hell had this come from? Bending he would pick the item up and hold it close, eyes soon falling upon Precious.

He had to take action, he could ask the question in his head later! Gripping that item tight, he pulled out the last of his strength to create a dagger. The astral blade was short, and wouldn't last long! Without a moments hesitation his feet pushed his body towards his target.

Neshoba looked shocked as the blade plunged into his chest, or rather the chest of Waya's body. No damage was done to the physical being, but Neshoba's spirit staggered from it's hostage. The wolf limped off a few feet, looking back to the boy. // You would go so far... As to... Kill me? // He asked, ripping the blade from his body.

Waya collapsed to his knees, relieved to see his body freed. // I missed.. Your.. Black heart....// Each word came with a struggled breath. He hadn't the strength even to make it to his body only a foot away from where it fell. // I.. Win.. This.. Ba-t...uh... // Too much energy had been used to speak, and where he knelt his body collapsed to the ground.

When the boy was out cold, Neshoba snorted and shook off any injury he had as if it were nothing. // Fix him up already.. Precious. // he mocked, turning to look at the horse as it began to approach. // That is your area of expertise after all. //

Precious all but walked over the wolf, glaring down at him. // Behave or I'll do more than stab you with a little dagger. Though, you do make a convincing bad guy! My I loved just showing up and saving the day... //

// Shut up woman and do your job like you're supposed to. //

// Yeah yeah... Go lick your wounds or something. You're breaking my concentration. //

It was a good thing the boy was far beyond unconscious, otherwise he would have heard this bickering of comrades. Though, if he had known of the plan he never would have learned on his own. Perhaps there was a lesson here, or a disaster waiting to happen. Only time would tell, but at least Waya gets his body back.

"Surprise Guest..."

Seven grasped the small peice of paper in his hand, trying to decifer the jumbled words on it. "Ohnono, how did Shadow 'spect me to read this?" He questioned to himself, stoping in the middle of the sidewalk, "These directions make no sense!" He cried, one hand clasped to his pack over his left arm, the other still clasping onto the paper. He paused a moment and tilted his head from one side to the other before laughing to himself, "Doy!" He gently patted his right fist on his forehead, before flipping the directions right side up. "That makes a lot more sense." He continued down the path with a bemused look on his face, now completely sure of where he was headed. Shadow had to take Harlequinne into town with her, since she was still small and getting fairly clingy, so Seven asked if he could visit one of the other children. Of course Shadow was in a hurry and just grabbed the first name and adress she could find that belonged to someone that had a child or two. It didn't really matter to Seven, he was always up for anything. His wings crinkled a little as he came up to his destination, "Oh I can't wait to meet them." He said quietly to himself, grin only getting larger as he approached the designated doorway. (Yay waya house)

The doorway looked inviting enough, and as Seven approached the house there was much to be heard. Screams of children came from behind the closed door, something along the lines of 'Stop it Taima!' or 'Bricriu don't do that!' All in all the usual sibling spats that one house hold had. After a moment the sounds of fighting moved from the front of the house, disappearing a moment before back door opened. Now several children came running out of the house into the back yard, taking the squabble outside to relieve the parent's headache from all the noise. Inside the house was quiet, a shadow crossing the window as it's owner entered the front room to sit and relax. Who was it? Well it was hard to tell from the curtain that hung in the window.

Seven's grin only grew larger. The louder something was, that usually meant it was all the more fun! And this certainly wouldn't be any different. A few more strides and he was at the front door. Two swift knocks on the door announced his presence, the sound of young voices echoed around him and his wings jittered ever so slightly. He clasped his hand on his pack and waited for an answer, of course he hoped he'd be welcome, but he didn't really thing about it. Of course he would be! Shadow wouldn't have sent him over if he was uninvited! Freehand adjusted his toolbelt just enough to lift it back to it's proper place on his hips.

The person in the living room took notice of the door, no doubt raising from their seat with an inaudible grumble. The sound of foot steps could be heard approaching the door, then the lock releasing as the knob was turned and door opened. It was Waya in fact that stood behind the door, a brow raising at the sight of the other. "Um..." He blinked, brow creasing as a frown came to his face. "Are you here to fix something?" Sure, it might not have been the most polite way to ask, but why else would another person be standing outside the door with a tool belt? Waya couldn't recall Ballentine mentioning a repair man coming over, then again this wasn't a man but a child not much younger than he was. Confused, he reached up to scratch just behind one of his hears as he regarded Seven.

Seven shot out his hand and firmly grasped Waya's hand, "Nicetemeetcha I'm Seven!" He grinned, certainly Waya had heard about him from his sister, maybe he could even catch up with her a little bit... But then again, at this moment Seven was very intrigued by the person that had greeted him, "Have we met before? I don't think we have, I would have noticed you, or at least remembered these ears!" His eyes widened. Ears! Ohohoho ears! His bag fell to the ground as he forgot completely about for the moment that he wished to inspect them closer. Of course Taima had feathers for ears, but these were entirely different. They were like Sitka's ears kinda, but not quite. For most people Seven would be intollerably too close for comfort, face only centimeters away from Waya's. He had to get a good look at him!
Oh boy was Waya's personal space violated. Even the hand shake came to the boy as a shock, staring wide eyed while Seven shook it firmly. Though as the boy leaned in closer, his body got stiff and ridged. If he didn't move maybe the other would just... go.. away. Right? No, that never seemed to work in the past. He didn't want to seem rude by giving Seven a shove, but he would do his best to duck and step away.

"No, we haven't met." Waya said in a low stern voice, fixing his golden eyes into a glare at this new person. "Who are you?" He demanded, arms crossing over his chest as he cocked his hip to the side. Though that position didn't stay that way for long. Waya would uncross his arms and reach down and... pat the air? To the random stranger Waya would look as if he were petting an imaginary pet, but to Waya that pet was there.

Neshoba had come to the door when he felt Waya's discomfort, he had to keep an eye on his little legend of course. Though unless Waya said otherwise, he remained seated beside the boy, content to get the gentle pats to the head and the long strides down the back of his neck. Any dog likes to be pet once in awhile, and it was a good act to keep up.

"I'm Seven! Taima's older brother and Shadow's son, also related to Harlequinne but I doubt you've met her since she's only a baby and so is Siiri but she's got quite the mouth on her...." Seven paused for a moment, sensing the boys discomfort at last, now that his curiousity had died down ever so slightly. "Shadow had to take Harle to town with her so she sent me to meet you I think. He glanced down at his piece of paper, only long enough to get a scribbled name in his head, "You are Ayam?" He asked, offering him the same smile that had been plastered on his face since he arrived.

Waya gave a small roll of his eyes. Had he asked for an explanation or a life story? No. Already he could tell Seven was going to be quite the talkative boy, Waya could already feel the head ache coming back. "Taima's brother?" He had actually forgotten for a moment that Taima was like him and adopted into the family. It was quite easy to do with so many others in the house. He gave a small shake of his head as the boy tried to guess his name, "No, my name is Waya." He stated lightly, finally stepping aside and gesturing for Neshoba to move as well. "Come inside. I can get Taima for you if you're here for a visit. I'm sure she'd appreciate seeing you... maybe." he added the last bit as he pondered it a moment. She really didn't seem to appreciate anyone's uninvited visits.

Seven snatched up his bag and stepped inside, pondering the thought of reuniting with Taima, but he shook his head a little. He knew she could jolt him senseless and he really didn't want that right at the moment, "Actually I came to see you! I asked Ma' if I could visit some other legends kids since it's been a really really long time... Last person I really visited was Goo~" He sighed a little, remembering how terribly interesting the other legend was, with all the goo limbs and swirling planets and things. Of course Waya was quite interesting too. But he seemed a bit more aloof than the other boy, which would mean it would take a bit of convinsing before he'd be able to do any sort of experimenting on him. "Well anyways, everyone of us are so interesting, and I just want to meet as many as I can.. though I don't really get to that often. So it's a really great change of pace that I get to come here and meet you!" He grinned. Grinning didn't usually help the situation, but it always made him feel great! So he just kept smiling.

"Came to see me?" Waya asked and once more he looked shocked. He couldn't help but be surprised that someone he didn't even know came all that way to meet him. Specially that someone being a stranger. Surely he heard wrong, he wanted to come and visit Taima. But as Seven continued that confused looked turned more into an unsure one. When Seven finished speaking Waya had to ask, he just couldn't keep it inside. "Goo?" That he had to have heard wrong.

"Anyway... um...." He frowned again, shutting the door since Seven had entered the house. "Remove your shoes, mother doesn't like dirt in the carpets... We can go on up to my room if you want? Or the living room..." He of course was hopping Seven would choose the later of the two, his room was a personal haven of course. "Anything to drink?" Great, now to act like the perfect host again.

He tore his eyes away from Seven after a moment to look down at a blank spot in the hall, "No, you can't. Do me a favor and turn off the television in the living room?" He would watch, turning and drifting his eyes with the invisible movement of the wolf as Neshoba left the doorway. Seven would feel a gentle breeze and a brush of fur against him as Neshoba passed. A moment later the television sound disappeared in an instant as it was in fact shut off.

Waya's attention was once more on Seven, and he finally stood there taking in the other's appearance. He looked normal enough, and those wings were actually pretty cool. He had seen quite a few legends with wings and it made him wonder why he himself didn't have a pair of his own. Oh well, he had Neshoba.

Seven shivered ever so slightly at the unexpected change in the air around him, flexing his wings out before folding them back behind him once more. He looked thoughtful, smacking his lips a little. He was thirsty, but then again, he was very curious about this new legend, "I'd love to see your room!" As nosey as he was, he hadn't really seen many other people's rooms, and he was quite interested in teh domocile of a fellow legend. He couldn't help but glance from time to time at waya's ears.

Suddenly he piped up, after considering the screaming earlier, "Do your ears bother you? Like... things are really loud and hurt them?"

Damn, he had to have chosen the room. Waya thought to himself as he gave a faint nod. "Alright then..." he said as he forced a smile onto his face, though the smile looked as polite as ever. "To my room then." He gestured with his hand towards the staircase that was at the end of the hall, spinning up to the second floor. Waya didn't want for Seven to take the lead but instead lead him on. After all Seven didn't know where they were going.

As he started up the stairs, he heard the question and frowned a bit. "Yes... sometimes things do..." Glancing over his shoulder, he made sure that Seven was following him and listening to his answer and not trying to tug his tail off or some other weird thing. He wouldn't have put it past the other after that situation at the door. "My siblings shouting back and fourth sometimes give me headaches." He explained simple enough, not feeling the need to go any further with it.

Rounding the top of the stairs he took the other across to his room, pushing the door open and then stepping aside to let him in first. "Just don't snoop in my drawers please." It really wasn't a request but a rule Waya expected to be followed. His personals were scattered in the dresser and night stand drawer. Though is mind flickered to the journal he kept hidden under his pillow and hoped the other wouldn't find it before Waya could get to it and store it away.

Seven's smile only got larger at the response Waya gave, perhaps he could get on his good side quite easily. "You know, I could probably construct something that could fit in your ear and dim down background noise." He paused, nodding a thank you as he followed Waya into his room. For now he was more interested in inventing than snooping. "Of course I'd have to experiment a little teeeeeny bit, but I think it would be fairly easy to remedy your problem." He grinned, one hand instinctually rested on his toolbelt, like a security blanket.

Thoughts were wirling through his head as he considered materials and things to help the other legend out. His ears, of course, weren't as sensative as the other's, not as large, and not placed as high on the head. He couldn't completely imagine what it would be like to have such extraordinary hearing, but he could imagine what screaming would feel like. Probably similar to the explosions he'd been close to before, only longer and sharper.

Those ears in question would fold down to his head in a protective manor, Waya giving the other legend a faint smile. "Really... thank you but no. I'd rather you didn't experiment on me... or my ears." Already the worst possibilities were popping into his head one by one, somehow going deaf was becoming the most popular outcome his mind could create. Nope, defiantly not going to let the other experiment with his hearing.

Shutting the door once the two were into the room, he strolled along over to his bed where he promptly sat down on. The room itself was quite bare of anything other than the necessities. Waya just not one to collect knick knacks. However a book of shamanism rested on the night stand beside the bed. A shelf on the wall did hold other things such as feathers, vials of liquids and dusts and a few bones decorated the wooden shelf. Everything there were items the book requested to use.

Waya just watched Seven with a look that said, 'this is it...' Waya didn't feel the need to say it, allowing Seven to take in the boring room on his own.

Seven found himself drawn to the shelf, examining from a small distance the vials and bones. Ohoho they were quite interesting! He wondered what they were for but had more pressing issues on his mind at the moment. "Nonono, not experimenting on you, experimenting with different prosthetic... things." He smiled, reaching into his belt, "Like, you know those things that old people wear to help them hear better? Well..." he fiddled with his tools a bit, simply out of habit, "The same concept could be taken to help you hear less. I've made lots of different things!" He wouldn't, of course, mention that many of his earlier projects had blown up, but that was all in the past surely... he hadn't blown anything up for at LEAST.... a week.

He grinned and moved his eyes back to the viles, reaching a hand up towards them, "What are these for? They're fascinating."

"Still..." Waya started as he kept an eye on Seven. "I'd rather you didn't. It's not as bad as you are probably thinking it to be...." He said, scrunching his face a bit as he thought of it. He just had to fold his ears down and ignore them, that usually allowed them to get it out of their system before he had to listen again. Only indoors did the sound effect him from the echoing against the walls, outside the sounds obviously drifted away.

As Seven reached for the bottle Waya found himself tensing. "Don't drop it..." he said with a bit of fear in his voice. He really didn't want to return to the beach for sand again. "I use certain things when I go out and practice my Shamanism. I really am getting better... Though I'm still not good enough. Neshoba keeps reminding me of that whenever something goes wrong." He snorted a bit and rolled his eyes. "So... you just invent stuff all the time? I suppose that's handy. No one here can do that.. Bricriu breaks things, Taima shocks people Sayid steals things and there's so many weird things my siblings do."

Seven nodded as he pulled one of the vials closer to his face for a better view, "Oh I do much more than invent things, I study as much as I can, and watch the stars.. paint sometimes and sculpt, Shadow's not much of a fan of a lot of what I do, but she doesn't hold me back either." He held the vial infront of his face so he could peer through the glass at Waya, before pulling it out of his line of sight, "It looks like you do some experimenting yourself, what is Shamaism?" He asked, quite curious about this new word. He'd have to go on a library run later to find out all the facts about Waya's field of study.

"I use vials for mixing compounds and acids and other chemicals, but I don't usually mix sand and rocks and bones..." Admitidly he'd mostly only worked with things of a mechanical nature, while this form of study seemed equally interesting, though a bit more chaotic. Chaos wasn't bad, it just made things more interesting, perhaps he'd have to try this so called.. Shamaism. Taking Waya's word to heart, he held the Vial in his hand tightly but gently, as to not harm it. He didn't want to ruin anything he'd started with the new boy. Especially one so interesting. Then again, who wasn't?

The situation was pondered for a moment. Should he give the boy the dictionary answer or ... Yes, the second way was better. "Here." He said as he rose up to his feet, taking the one step needed to his night stand to lift the book on shamanism up into his hand. It was thick and covered in a leather binding. He turned to face the other, offering a small smile as he offered the book out to his guest. "you can take a look if you'd like, just be careful with the pages. Its an old book... "

Seven reached for the book at first, but stopped to put the vial back up on the shelf, almost forgetting about it entirely. Once it was secure he returned to fetching the book, offering Waya a large grin. He took the book from him and set it down on his bed, shifting to kneel on the floor so he could read it and also be careful with it, "I've worked a lot with mechanics and stuff, but I haven't really done anything with bones or sand or.." He stopped as he palmed through the book, loosing himself in thought as he skimmed over a couple of the pages. "Hmmm hmmmmmmmmm~" he pondered as he read over some of the pages. It seemed to speak freequently of spirits, nature, and the links between them. He skimmed his eyes over a part that mentioned healing and cocked his head. He didn't really understand what all this spirit talk was about, but he was more than willing to learn.

"Very VERY Interesting!" He chirped, glancing at Waya to offer another curious smile.

Whlie the other was reading the book, Waya took that moment to shift away and snag his journal from under his pillow. He was quick to open his night stand drawer and slip the journal into the drawer to hide it from uninvited eyes.

"I'm glad you find it interesting." He stated as he shut the drawer, sitting back down to glance over at Seven once more. "Perhaps you can look it up later with your mother? Or maybe you can come by some other time and practice with me.... Though it's quite difficult right in the beginning. Many of the spirits were upset with me as I did a lot of things wrong...."

Seven laughed a little, "Really? I could practice with you? That would be really awesome!" He started thinking to himself about angry spirits, though the thought didn't really bother him at all. "There's really nothing wrong with doing it wrong, it's all part of the invent-er... It's all part of learning. I mean, I blew up lots of stuff before I actually did anything useful, it's why I always got soot on my clothes.. Things go wrong but we learn from em right? I'd love to try sometime this... Spirit stuff. It seems alot differnt from what I'm used to but, I'm always open to new things." He glanced over at the shelf, "Plus your tools are really neat." He chuckled quietly to himself, then looked back at Waya.

Quest time!

Waya's recent experiences are alive within his mind and soul, and as he sleeps, invade both in a nightmare.
What will haunt his dreams, and how will they relate to what has passed? Who will Waya turn to in his sleep, where do his loyalties, and the loyalties of those seen not with his waking mind lie? Will he learn something before he wakes, or merely remember the cold sweat?

Good luck, young Legend!

Waya sighed as he laid down upon his bed. It was like falling right into heaven! There was no uncomfortable spot at all upon the mattress, and that's what he loved most about it. That and the pillow was a feathered sanctuary all of it's own. But one thing was for sure, whenever he was this exhausted the bed would always be there!

So many things had happened recently! First that whole body snatching mess - for which he had forgiven Neshoba for. How could he not? The wolf was always by his side, even now. He had gone on that eventful family picnic, even got to see Prana again. Well that alone had put a smile on his face. Oh sweet, sweet memories he did behold. Then the chance at seeing Seven again.

Rolling onto his stomach for a better position, he turned his head and smiled at his wolf. "Night, Neshoba." Though he earned no reply as the wolf was already fast asleep. Waya didn't pres the matter, letting his friend continue to sleep. A small gentle pat was placed upon the wolfs head before the boy happily snuggled into his pillow. He too was off to dream land... But what would await him as he arrived? Not even he knew.

(( And yea, pre-game to Waya's child to teen quest. I want to state now I have permission from Cubi to use her image/character. I also have DS's permission to use Prana and Karan should I see fit. I don't for Seven but... I'll ask SP about it later since she's hard to get a hold of. Anyway... Here we go. ))

Sleep came easy for the child, the boy well beyond tired thanks to the previous events of the past few weeks. Because of that exhaustion, as he slept dreams came natural. However, what he didn't know was this dream was unlike the rest. A mutation of sorts distorted the dream, making it which we all know to be a nightmare.

Off in the distance, from somewhere in the dark, the hard beating of a heart was heard. A sound that made many cringe. However, listening closer that heart beat was like the beating of a drum, a rhythm of life. Curiously, Waya opened his eyes to see where that beat was coming from. Unsure of where he was, only knowing a canopy of trees was above him, he rose and headed for the sound.

As he got closer, the sound rushed over him, matching the pounding of his heart. Beat by beat, step by step he found himself approaching a small village around dusk. No one seemed to pay him any mind as he walked in, heading right for the center where a ritual was being held. He only knew this as many were gathered around a pit fire dressed in what he assumed to be their ceremonial dress.

Staying to the back, the boy just began to watch as the Clan elder rose and began to speak. His voice was withered with age, though held a wisdom Waya wished he too would have in the future. The ritual was started with the words of a sacrifice. This stunned the boy, surprised that such an act would be carried out. Surely it wasn't a- "No..."

Gowned in white robes, a woman that was the spitting image of his beloved mother appeared from the crowd. Cubi. She couldn't be the sacrifice, could she? Worried for his mother, the boy started to push through the crowd that had seemed to form from no where.

At the alter, Cubi looked up and directly at Waya. A smile appeared on her face, and then words struck him cold. She wasn't the sacrifice, but called for the virgin. Clad in white robes, a hood covering the face, another figure emerged from the crowd. Walking towards Cubi, anyone could easily tell this virgin was a female. On edge, Waya continued to move forward. Should he be cursed by the gods then so be it, he would not let this happen.

But as the girl reached Cubi, the woman pulled back the hood to reveal yet another familiar face. It was a face that froze Waya to his spot.

"Prana..." The name was said just above a whisper. How could this be happening?!

Squeezing eyes shut and viciously shaking his head, Waya tried to shake away these images. Surely he couldn't be seeing what he thought it was he seen! But when those golden eyes opened once more, he was shocked beyond belief as Cubi rose a dagger to Prana's heart.

Feeling his own heart skip a beat, the boy let out a roar of "STOP!" as he lunged forward. Grabbing not the dagger but Prana's hand, the boy tugged her off towards the darkened forest surroundings. Behind them as they ran were shouts of anger and cries of war. Even if it came to that, they would need to slay two instead of one.

At night the forest seemed like a maze, Waya not knowing which direction to take or where that path would lead. Everything seemed as if it were trying to stop them, animals and plant life holding him back with every step. He wouldn't lose, he wanted to protect her! He...

"A dead end..." Waya gasped as a clearing suddenly appeared, only to have a bottomless drop at their feet. It being to dangerous to move forward, Waya looked over his shoulder to go back. A large blaze of fire would prevent them from reentering the forest, the smoke thick in the air.

"Prana... I'll protect you." He assured, looking at the girl who's hand he held. But the smile that began to creep on his face would soon vanish from existence when the girl tugged her and free. "Prana?"

"There is no protection... Not from you. Murderer." Looking up, Prana narrowed her eyes at the boy, stepping towards that edge. Without a second thought, and no hesitation, the girl took a leap of fate into the darkness. Unable to stop himself, Waya reached out for her hand only to be pulled down into the darkness as well.

He wasn't sure how long they fell, or if Prana was near him anymore. His body had grown cold, numb to any sensations. Feeling as if he were dieing, he assumed the worst had occurred and the impact paralyzed him. Either way he was dieing.

This whole situation just...

Sucked.

Cold, that's all he could sense as he laid there. Didn't he die?

Focusing, he could hear the steady beat of a heart monitor, beeping in time with the heart held in his chest. Apparently he wasn't dead, and he was quite alive. Hospital? Cracking open his eyes the boy was met with white. Pure white. Blinding white.

Hissing, he turned his head to the side to try and allow his eyes to adjust. It was just much to bright to open his eyes just yet. "Hn....." Groaning, he tried to move but found himself unable to. Not from a paralyzing fall but... Restraints?!

"Oh good, you're awake!" That voice was just to cheerful to be a nurse, and oddly familiar. "Let me turn the lights down!" With a click, the room dimmed and Waya's eyes opened. He was shocked and slightly confused as the room he was in was not a hospital, but what looked like a mad scientists lab from a bad horror movie.

"Nn... Where am I?" Waya asked, searching the room for that familiar voice, which he assumed would have a familiar face with it. Unable to see anyone, Waya focused on the restraints upon his wrists. Who would do such a thing?!

"You're in my lab!" Came that voice from behind, soon Seven appeared at his side, grinning down at the other. "I've always wanted to see how those ears of yours worked! And your tail to! Ooooh I'm so envious, I want a tail to wag!" Pushing his bottom lip out in a pout, Seven stood there silent for the moment.

Waya had to think fast on this one! He didn't want to become an experiment! "Look... Seven... It's really simple." Making a motion to move to show him, the boy frowned and tugged. "Ah.. I can't show you though! My hands are tied. It's to hard to explain." He sighed. "Oh... I guess you'll never know."

"No! I wanna know, I wanna know! Here..." And with a simple push of a button those bonds were released. "Now show me, please?!"

Waya snorted, jumping off the examination table. "No chance in hell. I'm outta here." The words were hissed over his shoulder as the boy ran straight for the only door he saw. A loud buzz sounded in his ears, the sun from outside blinding his sight. For a moment he felt as if he were heading towards the light....

But with a blink, the boy stumbled to a stop. "My back yard...?" But, didn't he just- Looking behind him he quickly noted that the building he just exited wasn't there. Frowning, he turned around a few times as if it would randomly appear. No, the building was gone as was Seven. Was it just a bizarre dream? It must have been.

Shrugging it off, the boy figured he just needed to have a good nights sleep for once as he started into the house. "Mmm.... A nap does sound good." Even though he recalled just waking up. Smiling to himself, he'd enter the house through the back door and head towards the stairs.

However as he rounded the corner, something shocked him yet again. There was Ballentine sitting upon the stair well with, himself in her arms?! How could that be? As the woman looked up at him, he felt as if he were frozen to the spot he stood. "You did this..." She hissed, cradling the boy in her arms. "You murderer!"

What was going on here?!

"You murderer!"

The words stung the boy as he took a step back, staring at his guardian. The mother he had finally learned to accept and love. How could she blame him? He wasn't there... That wasn't him in her arms! He was him, who was he?! Waya just shook his head as the confusion only worsened his problem. He had no idea what was going on!

Looking up to the wall, a mirror was hanging just at the right height to catch a glimpse of himself. The face he had known all his life wasn't the face that stared back at him. He saw a stranger staring at himself for the first time, and was dumb struck at the concept. Who was that man he was looking at. Touching his face, he felt tears welling in his eyes as the motion in the mirror mimicked what he did.

This just couldn't be!

Turning, he fled the way he came. Something wasn't right... When did he become this stranger!? "Someone..." He cried out, someone could help him but he hadn't the faintest idea who! With a bang of the back door he exited the house, feet taking him out into the yard.

Behind him was a low growl, one he knew all to well. Neshoba. Stopping, he turned to face the wolf, he'd remember him right? "Neshoba! I..." But the wolf had a crazed look in his eyes, one that told Waya not to test him. Backing away cautiously, he kept his eyes on his furry little friend. Or was he an enemy now? He didn't know.

A burst of light and heat suddenly flooded his senses as the house caught on fire. Unable to take the heat, the boy turn and began to run again. This time he ran into something white. Precious. Without hesitation he jumped upon her back, keeping hold as she tried to buck him several times. Kicking her to go, both she and he fled the yard into the woods with Neshoba not far behind.

This brought back a certain memory... The chase in his past.

As he held onto that white mane, he stared off into the darkness as he tried to recall what had happened in the past. Trees and plants morphed into that memory, the sounds filling his ears as it had happened that night. A memory that was long forgotten.

Stopping the horse suddenly, he slid from it's back as he caressed her jaw. "You must go. Run my Precious, and never stop." Words that had once been said were repeated as he sent the horse on her way. He knew what was to come next and prepared himself for the encounter.

Actions repeated much like the past events, a battle of strength that lead to blood shed. However this time Waya could only kneel there as Neshoba attacked once more. As the dog sunk it's teeth into his neck, words were abandoned. There was no spell to bond their souls... Waya hadn't the will power to speak them. He merely succumbed to the power struggle of the food chain. Perhaps this was the past he was meant to have.

"Our fates... Have.. Been decided..." He choked out, the world around him going dark.

Gasping for breath, Waya sat up right on his bed as he woke from a dream. First thing he had done was touched his neck, finding no wound but a sticky sweat. The room was pitch black from the night, clouds covering the moon light. He hated when it was this dark...

Reaching over, he turned his bed side lamp on to shed light into the room. It was only then he realized that sticky sweat wasn't sweat, it was blood! Gasping, he whipped his head around to look upon his body. Blood soaked. He felt no wound on his body, no pain either! Something wasn't right...

Throwing off his cover, he jumped to his feet and started for the door. Upon throwing the door back he came face to face with a gruesome sight. Neshoba, or rather his remains. Something or someone horrible had massacred his body.... Could he have? No.... But his hands and body were caked with the evidence.

Concerned for his family, Waya was repeatedly met with grotesque scene. Each turn of the door only showed him the terribly fate that had befallen his siblings. Was he the last alive? Why only him? Scared, he fled down the stairs in search of someone, anyone alive in the home!

Every corner of the house was searched, and the boy was left with one conclusion. He was the only survivor!

Stepping to that mirror again, he looked not at a face he didn't know. It was his, though blank of any emotion. No fear, joy, confusion or any sort of emotion was expressed on that blood shed face. "I did it." He stated, looking directly in his eyes.

A dagger was grabbed from the confines of space, dream worlds really were handy like that. Looking down at the blade, the boy could feel himself grin as he took the dagger and plunged it directly into his reflection. The shattering mirror shards stabbed his body like little daggers, sending him to the ground as he to met the fate of his family with shooting pain.

----------------

Gasping for breath, Waya sat up right on his bed a he woke from a dream. No, what he had woken from was a nightmare! The first thing he had done was reached to his side and noted the massive lump of fur. Now that was reassuring. "Neshoba?" He called out, shaking the lump and was earned a rather nasty growl. That was enough to calm his nerves and Waya stilled his hand.

Even in the muggy summer heat he could feel his body cool with sweat. Taking a deep breath, he released a sigh and settled back down upon the mattress. Even if this was another dream, he wouldn't dare turn that light on. Instead he laid there upon his bed till morning, staring into the darkness.

When sunrise finally came, he was standing at his window with an emotionless face. He had no idea what his dream meant but he was more than disturbed by it. In fact he did his best to push it from his mind in order to relax. It wasn't until Neshoba was awake and nudging the boy for attention that he realized morning finally arrived.

"Good morning Neshoba..." He greeted, gently scratching the wolf behind it's ear. "I'm sorry if I kept you up last night. I'm sure I tossed and turned. I had a nightmare... If it could even be called that." He explained, looking from the blue skies down to his companion.

Neshoba snorted, giving a careless shrug as he turned. // It's alright, not like it killed me. // Trotting for the door, he paused a few steps from it to look back at the boy, cocking his head to the side. // Hurry it up brat. I can smell pancakes downstairs! We need to get down there before your bratty siblings eat them all. //

Shocked by the first comment, Waya smiled at the second and gave a nod. "Mmm.... Let's go.." Taking the steps needed to the door, it was opened and allowed the two to exit. Waya wasn't sure what he'd see when he came downstairs, but he was preparing himself for anything the day might throw at him.

End.

Seems someone is thinking of Waya today!
This was sent to him, with two notes attached:

User Image

The first note reads:
I...miss you. Hope you are well.
From Prana.

The second is in a different hand, and reads:
You got this plant, but that's not all, if you do what I say.
Keep it safe, keep it alive, then bring it to me, a week today.

Seems Waya's meant to keep it healthy, then take it to what was the HQ in a week!
