The Mary Janice Davidson Series, "Undead..." is SUPER cute, super FUN to read (I read them all so quick, like in a day) and really refreshing. The books are about Betsy, Queen of the Vampires, and her Consort. Betsy is basically a lovable shoe fashionista who finds out a prophecy fortold her rise as the Queen of the Dead after her death. http://www.maryjanicedavidson.net/Looks like chick-lit, and it might be, but its SOOO much fun to read, you'll be laughing out loud, and then amazed with the action and love scenes a few pages later. (did I plug that enough!?!?!)

Lady Sierra Double_Sins I read a great series called "The Last Vampire" by Christopher Pike. I think there are six books in the series. This one has plenty of action and has a woman vampire with an attitude (like Anita). I think you'd like this book if you like the Anita Blake books. Ooooh! I think someone suggested that I read that before... now I'll have to be sure to look for it! heart That was actually my first vampire series that I really got into and enjoyed...haven't read much else of christopher pike (starlight crystal and Sita), but he really knowns how to write female lead characters, especially in this series. Lol...but I read it when I was 12 (right before I found the Anita blake series) and haven't had a chance to reread it since I was 16. (my dog chewed up two the books! gonk )

Right now I'm reading Dead Man Rising by Lilith Saintcrow. It's the second book to Working for the Devil and so far so good. Dante is trying to figure out what she is, get over the death of a lover, try to forgive another lover for betraying her, find a killer and try to avoid the devil! I can't wait to read the end!

Well there's Greywalker by Kat Richardson. It's a little out there but it grabs you straight from beginning to end, it was also the star review in Entertainment Weekly if you need anymore incentive.

I finished it! I loved it! You really feel for Dante how she struggles with her fear and loss and over comes them. I really like how Saintcrow describes her world. I think she does a bit more than LKH in that department. On the top of my TBR pile are books 4 and 5 of the Riley Jenson Guardian novels (which are the books from the novel Full Moon Rising) I read really fast so I'll prolly post in a few days saying how good they are. lol

Ok I went though all of these posts on this topic today and decided to make a list of all the recommendations that everyone has had. It was very time consuming so if I missed a book or author then I'm sorry (PM me and I'll edit the post). Some of the books that have series, I'll just list the series name... and maybe one of the books that are in it. I'll update this list when there are more book or someone PMs me with mistakes or whatever. I did not look up every one of these books, if there is one that is part of a series that didn't list or something is wrong then PM me and I'll get it fixed.
