This is going to sound crazy, and probably kinda stupid, but you can blame my little brother, who, right now, is overly Star Wars obsessed.

Hahahahaha. No. That wasnt stupid. In fact, I was thinking the same thing. And when the whole "Yondaime-hokage is Naruto's father and the leader of the Akatsuki" theory started floating around, I had the same set up with Naruto.
But I think the Shino one is much funnier, seeing that Shino is only seriously funny when he is being serious [referes to the Konoha sports festival OAV].
