I thought HF was going to close on the 17th, which would be today. [Since it's after midnight on the east coast.]

Ah! Sorry, you thought correct. I was thinking "14 performances" and attempting to type "Dec. 17." Appearently it didn't work out.

Thanks for the correction.

It's ok, we all make mistakes. (:

And sorry if I sounded "matter-of-fact-ly," I was just wondering if what I had read was right...

Haha. Naw, it's fine. I'm glad you caught that.

...Hi Fi's last performance occuring at this very moment cry

I'm going to miss even though I've never seen it. I can't wait until the recording comes out!

So, it's still coming out, then?

Woah. So...the OBCR is still coming out, it's just a bit limited as of now. Mail order only, they arrive in January.

So it's not going to be released in stores as of now [or at all for that matter]?

I don't know about at all, but right now, I think ordering is the only way.

I actually heard High Fidelity was crap... "utterly forgettable" as the article put it...

I don't know much about the actor you mentioned or the musical... just what I heard.

That's pretty much how all of the reviewers put it, although some wrote a bit more...open-minded and maturely than others. It was most definately not one of the most forgettable musicals out there.

And while all the reviewers gave the show fairly mediocre reviews, I have yet to here an audience member to say they didn't enjoy the show.

And honestly, had the show been completely horrid, I would have gone anyway just to see the spectacular set. At least the critics agreed with me there.

You can't always trust critics for your opinion. There are plenty of extremely popular and great shows out there that were PANNED when they opened.

That's always a given, I mean Avenue Q in London got crap reviews when it opened. I know nothing about the show except the review I read so... hahaha xD

London Avenue Q is still doing extremely well, right? I think Julie Atherton summed it up in her interview...the reviewers in London wanted to hate Avenue Q because it came from the states. So they went in their with their reviews already written.

To some extent, I think that happened to High Fidelity, and probably happens with most shows. Critics knew that the show had a very hard act to follow, with the hit book and film. And they knew the music was going to be difficult, because the story itself is about a bunch of music snobs. To some extent, I think HiFi's fate, review-wise, was preordained.
