btw, Trivium came from MY school. and live RIGHT down the road from me. or at least corey and matt do. they show up at my school every battle of the bands, and at random times just to hang around. there INSANELY cool people. plus, my first guitar teacher who had taught me for my first 2 and a half years taught matt guitar. biggrin
So you know them personally? If you think Matt or Corey would be interested, tell them some moron actually called them Nu-Metal and that a California fan defended them.

As for the topic, bands that have been influenced by Iron Maiden:
EVERY BAND AFTER 1980!!!
Maiden really gave a push to Progressive, influenced a lot of Thrash like Metallica and Slayer, is responsible for Power Metal, and is the perfector of Dual-Leads, so every band with two guitarists owes some credit to Maiden.
