This is what you know as a KIMONO, it is the least formal wear of women of all ages.

The usual wear of young and unmarried women. this is a FURISODE, and is not formal wear. its sleeves are long, and it is colourful.

This a HOUMONGI. it is fomral wear for women of any age. its formality is between FURISODe and tomoesode (next article)

a TOMOESODE. it is the most formal kimono, worn only by old and married women.
