Jini felt his ears droop, confusion alight in his eyes. His heart ached at her words, yet he found them hard to think of as true. So...her family was gone...? But it couldn't have possibly been her fault. He couldn't believe someone who obviously missed their family so much could be directly resonsible for their absence. But then...he had always been naive. Reality wasn't always what he believed it to be. "I'm sure..." He murmured hesitently, "It wasn't your fault...whatever it was that happened..." He trailed off weakly. He couldn't console someone if he was ignorant, at least not without sounding arrogant and stupid.
He lurched back as she gestured her wing at him, surprise and bewilderment expressed in his features, "Ah! N-No, I c-couldn't possibly!..."

Ryu'Rage tilted her head slightly at him. He was such a caring lion, so shy and innocent. Should she tell him her story? How it was her birth that cursed her family? How even though they were gods and goddesses, her family, that they sacrififced their souls ability to reincarnate to save her?
No.
Not unless he asked.
Pulling her wing back slightly she watched him, so shy he was. But he was being so kind to her, she wanted to give him something, "It's alright... I've taken more out of my wings in the past, but one being as a gift, makes it more worthwhile to give it, then discard it for no reason..." she was perhaps speaking in riddles. She basically hated her wings, ehr feathers, perhaps Jini would like a feather better then she.
Placing her paw to her wing she pulled lightly on one of her feathers, pulling it free, not even wincing from the slight pain of it letting go. With it in her paw she held her paw outwards. "I would like you to have it...if you want it Jini...you've been so...kind to me..."

Jini still looked rather lost. He didn't quite understand what she was talking about. He did jump, however, when she yanked out a feather, "M-miss Ryu-" Protest and worry still fresh on his tongue he gawked at the feather in horror. Not so much over what it was, since in all truth he found the little thing beautiful, but more so since it figured it must have hurt to pull it out. And yet now that if was being offered to him, it seemed pointless to argue. She had already endured what-ever it would cost to take it from her being...to not accept it would be a waste and make any pangs she had for nothing. "Ah...thank you....I'll treasure it," He murmured softly, but with feeling. So, hesitantly, he reached out and took the feather in his jaws like he was holding glass. Shifting back carefully onto his haunces she bent his head down and moved the feather to securly rest among the long strangs of his growing mane.

She smiled faintly at him, "No worries Jini, it doesn't hurt me," it hurt more to have the feathers stay on her and her silver hues to have to fall on them every day of her existence. Jini was such a pure and kind soul, she envied it, perhaps one day she might grow to be more like him, able to have the light conquer the dark in her being.
Rage noted the feather looked good on him, it was striking within his mane, stood out like nothing else, so beautiful it was to see on another, to hear that they would treasure it...someone would essentially be treasuring a part of her. "I'm sure you will Jini, I will certainly treasure our friendship," she hoped they were friends as of now. Rage liked being in the company of Jini, she felt like she didn't have to hide herself with illusion before him...she hated doing that anyway.
Noting that it was getting later in the day, she knew it would mean more lions would be about, she didn't want to be seen as an intruder, or seen by others she didn't know would accept her or not. Only Jini. "The day is growing short Jini, and I must find my place to rest for now, thank you, for everything," she walked towards him and gently nuzzled her cheek against his, she forgot what it was like to have a friendship with another.
Stepping back she watched him, hope in her eyes, soon she would have to take wing and find the area she was resting at yesterday, "Can I come visit you Jini? Please?" she wanted to see him again most definitely. Jini was the first mortal friend Rage had. She wanted to see him again.

Jini was a little surprised by her affection, but it only brought a bright smile to his maw, "Of course! Please do." He felt a connection too, a friendship. Even if she was something so otherworldly...so beyond whatever he could ever become. He sensed something sad in her nature as well...and it pulled at his heart. He hoped that one day when she came to visit she would be smiling and the cloud would lift from her. Or perhaps he hoped that one day he could sooth the scars that tore at her heart. Until then...he'd treasure their friendship and her feather. "I'll wait for you," she said with a nod, genunine compassion reflected in his eyes.

For once Rage was feeling a lift in her body, her heart wasn't paining her which gave her relief, and she couldn't believe that she now had a mortal friend. Even just having a friend such as Jini made her happy on the outside, even if she could not express it fully on the outside.
But she felt the restraints breaking within her suddenly, and surpressed it for just a moment more, "I must go for a bit Jini, but I'll come back, I promise," a faint smile upon her she spread her wings and started in the direction she had come, but she peered down at Jini, the light feeling a connection.
Today had been one of the better days of her life.
