I lucked out, I memorize things after two or three runs. And if I somehow manage to not memorize it by the night before I need to, I pull a horn all nighter, god I love my mute.

I play through a certain phrase/section of the song and memorize it until I get through the whole movement...and also, playing and looking at the songs a lot... I usually memorize my music pretty quickly xp

Well I got a recording of it on CD. And I listened to it probably over 50 times. Then I picked it up so fast, that I had it memorized within a few weeks.

when i get the music, i'll try and just practice it, over and over again. eventually it would stick. But if i don't have it memorized when we're doing drill or anything, I'd set the music to drill and then we'd be doing drill over and over and they'd also make us play. Repetition is basically it.

I memorize the music with repetition and then I memorize the drill by where I am in the music. It gets to the point where the director or the vis. tech will say something like, "Go to page so-and-so..." and we're like, "Okay...this is where we play that loud f'n note.." or "This is the crazy run..."

I usually listen to the CD if there is one and play along with it over and over again. Then at band camp I try to not look at the music as much as I can, and by doing this I had all my music memorized by the first week.

What I do is just remember how the song goes and if I play the note wrong, well, I know. I try practicing a few times and then I try playing it without the sheet music. Isn't that how you're 'sposed to do it?

Play lots and lots of times over and over. Our direstor also helps b/c when we learn drills we do it overand over again without music then with music sos that helps in memorization.
