Quest :: 1 :: But it's mine ! This had became daily routine in Wren's life. Toddler in one arm, the other doing other things, like picking up the mail. If anything, becoming a father had made him a great deal better at this little wonder of life they called multi-tasking. It also, apparently, did a great deal for his balance, as he managed to get both himself, an overly curious butterfly girl, and a pile of enveloppes and catalogues back to the table without dropping anything. He sat down, propped Hana on his lap, and allowed her to play with some catalogue he wasn't interested about while he shorted through the mail. Bills, bills, always more bills... Wait, what's that ? The scent was first thing that clued him off that this was not another bill or piece of junk mail. In fact, it was not even for him. "That's one yours, little princess." He said with a smile, and slid it at her direction, orange eyes growing wide. Mail ? For her ? Tiny hands took the sweet-smelling enveloppe from the table and ripped it open as gently as she could manage, letting the sheet of paper slide on her lap. "S'forme ! I read it, papa !" She picked it up and unfolded it. The letters where much tinier than the one in her books ! Really, this was hard, a challenge even ! She squinted a bit. There where quite a few words that where brand new for her ! Princess, of course, was familiar. Orphanage was not. She got to the end of the first paragraph before glancing up at her daddy. "What's orphanage, papa ?"Wren gave a confused blink before peering over at the letter. My, what was this ? Someone from the Eden Project, maybe ? It... wasn't a bad idea at all. "An orphanage is a place when kids that don't have a daddy or a mommy can go to have other adults make sure they are well." "S'sad." Really, the thought of not having her papa was... really bad. She didn't like it, so she pushed it away. "What's else ?" Really, those letters where too tiny. The words where blurring on the page when she did her best to squint at them. But she had read the first part all of her own, like a big girl ! "Well, it's from Shouko. She's an Eden like you." How else would the girl have known all those things, anyway ? "And she had an idea, something you can do for those children that don't have mommies or daddies." "S'what ?" Really, what could she do about it ? "Well, since they're so many of them, they don't have toys. Her idea was that you could give them one of yours, it would probably make them very happy." The small frown on her tiny face was enough to tell that the idea was not going well. "Toys are mine !" She pouted. What kind of idea was that ?! Really. If it had been Alice, or Caprice, or Tansi, or Nahuel... maybe, but she didn't even know those kids ! "Yes, dear, I know they're yours." Really. If he could convince her... She might learn something great from this. He didn't want her to become a selfish little girl, but he refused to bully her into it either. What would she learn of it if she was recentful to begin with. "But, Hana, I want you to think of something. You have lots of toys... How would it be if you didn't have any ?" "Boring." The young girl answered, matter of factly. "'n sad.""Indeed. Do you like to make people happy ?" "Hm-n !" After all, sad people where not people who tended to be interesting. It was even better if they where smiling because of her. "It's one toy, dear. And it's gonna make someone verry happy. Maybe you'll even make a new friend." The blue haired man moved Hana to the ground, and gave a pat on her head. "You decide which one. If you get it done before lunch, we can bring it to then when we go shopping tommorow." The butterfly girl pouted a bit, and turned around to flee in her room once her father started to fix dinner. She still wasn't sure she liked this, but... Maybe. Maybe if she decided which one.

Quest :: 2 :: A Difficult Choice Since daddy was busy with fixing lunch, Hana waddled back in her room, her mind still thinking about all this. Couldn't papa just buy another toy to give to them ? Why did it have to be one of hers ?In the small child's mind, this seemed somewhat unfair. She gave another pout and sat on her bed, starting at the dolls, plushies, and assorted toys she had amassed so far. There well a whole lot of them, fact that she was quite proud of ! And they where all pretty, too. Having to part with one of them made her sad. There was the off-chance that Wren would have forgotten all about that silly idea, but it didn't look like it. She had to somehow chose. She really didn't want to, but... She started with the things she knew she really, really did not want to part with. The moogle plushie she slept in at night, the flower pins (after all, these weren't toys so they where safe, right ?) all the pretty jewelry and the fans her cousins had given her. Those had to stay and she was sure gonna scream anyone who said otherwise right in submission. This left a few things, things she was a bit less attached to. Orange eyes darted across the shelves. There was the pink bunny auntie Zero gave her... No, no, not that one. Other choices came up and where mentally shot down as quickly. It left her with very little choice - after quite a bit of this, she was left with the dolls daddy had gotten before she was even born. She tiptoed, gathered the set from their stand, and plopped on her bed. It would have to be one of those, since she didn't want daddy to be upset because she hadn't found anything. If he was the one to decide it would be horrible !So, really. It was better to swallow her pride and do it herself. Even she could see that. She glanced at the dolls, one by one. Not this one. Not this one either. Things where looking grim. She got to the last one and looked at it for a long moment. She played with them often, all beside that one really. It was all black, mostly, and Hana was not really attacted to black. Some black was okay, but all black was kind of boring. And unattractive. There was another one that was all black, but the other one was prettier, with her little dress. It was quite easy to see - they all had some playwear, where this one barely had any. She glanced over all the dolls once more. She never liked that one much, but it was still hers. But if it had to be anything... It would have to be this one. She replaced the other five on their little stands, took the empty stand and the doll before heading out of the room. "Papa ?""Hmmm ? What is it, dear ?" Wren looked away from his book. The lasagna was slowly grilling to perfection in the oven and a fruit and whipped cream pie was settling on the counter. He was not an amazing cook, but... he managed ! "Decided... This one." She held up the little doll for her father to see, her expression sad, but not as upset as when she had went to her room. "S'okay ?"Wren couldn't help but smile. She'd actually done it. "It's definitly okay, your decision after all." He allowed her to sit on his knees again. "We'll go give it to them tommorow then, allright ?" "'kay..."

Quest :: 3 :: Little Miss Sunshine The little pair left early the next morning, to get the chores out of the way. Wren had started to take Hana to errends a little more often lately since Zero was getting more and more busy, and it actually seemed to be good for the little girl. She always learned a few new things when they went out. Only today, Hana wasn't as eager at usual, clutching the doll in her hands. The doll that soon wouldn't be hers anymore. She'd mostly come to accept it, but it was still a bit hard. And she could cling until then ! All the other things went on all too quicky for her, and after she went out to eat in a restaurant with Wren, they headed off to Barton by bus. Once there, the orphanage wasn't too hard to find, even with the man's legendary ability to have issues finding his way out of a paperbag. The building was large, and nowhere as bad as the orphanage which was highlighted during christmas. As the pair entered, you could hear the children playing nearby. "There's your cue, princess." Wren whispered to his daughter as he lifted her into his arms as they approached the lady standing behind the counter. Hana watched the lady for a moment, before she figured that both where waiting for her to speak. "I... has this." She said, a bit shyly, handing over the doll to her. "For the kids here ?""Really ? You're such a generous sweetheart, arn't you ?" The lady said, with a wide smile. "Come with me, then ? I know just the little lady would would love this." Wren set her down then, urging her to follow the woman as she headed off to the back. "Ill be waiting here." "'Kay..." Hana turned and bolted after the woman, peering as she opened the door. It was leading to outside, and there where alot of children there, playing. There really wasn't much there, beside a ball and a small swing. The Shouko-person had been mostly right. The lady went to a lone little girl, who was drawing on the ground with some chalk. "Alysia ?" "Hn ?" The child, who was just a bit older than Hana, looked up, blue eyes glancing at her curiously. Hana did not wait this time. She put on her best smile. "S'for you !"Her eyes widened. "Really ?! Thank you !" Alysia grinned and took the doll as it was offered to her. It made her so happy, while Hana herself hadn't cared much about the doll until now. It was odd how things worked sometimes. The two girls chatted a bit before Hana had to go back where Wren was waiting for her, all smile and giggles. Alysia had been so nice and cheerful, she really did not care much anymore about the doll and was happy to have left it with her. Needless to say, Wren was very proud of his little princess that day.

At some point during the night, Hana Cho awakes unable to move. No matter what she tries, she can't budge at all. Despite trying to fight it, she finally falls back asleep out of pure exhaustion. In the morning the ordeal has been forgotten, and she's grown into a kid!

Yes, that's much better ! heart Lots of things hapenin lately. I kind of got taler all of sudden and daddy was so surprized ! The look on his face was funny, I couldn't stop laughing ! So daddy got me a nice set of pens all sort of pretty colors and he's been teaching me to write since I can't start school till fall. Whatevr that means. I like being taller, I think. I can wear some of the pretty things my cuzins got me that I couldn't before, I just have to be exxxxxxtra careful with them, daddy said. Of course I am, I don't want them to break. sad
I like writing. Daddy says im good at it ! heart I think I will like this school thing. There arn't lots of kids my age around here beside my cuzins so it's kinda boring.
Not that my cuzins are boring, they're just... my cuzins, you know ? They still treat me like a babby sometimes. Daddy saiz to give it time but it still makes me mad. I don't like being mad, ill'd rather be happy. sad
But Daddy found me a dance class, I was so happy ! Maybe I will see Reese again there ? Or Alice ? I wonder if Alice got all tall too, since I did ! I wanna see them again. With everyone else. Everyone was so nice, we had so much fun, but it's been a long time. I should bug daddy about it. He must be bored too, since if he's not doing that thing he calls work, he's always home !
Daddy said I should write letters to Alysia. She's the girl that got my doll at the orpha pan that place with kids that don't have daddies or mommies. I wanna, but I dunno what to write her ! I hope she finds her daddy or mommy soon...
I think that's it for today, Lana~ Maybe ill get my puppy tommorow... Daddy keep saying to be patient, but I want my puppy NOW ! It can't be that hard, isn't it ? To find puppy ? I see them at the mall all the time when we go. They're all in cages and I don't like that. Puppy shouldn't be in cages, they look so sad. sad I want to bring them home so they can be happy... Hopefuly soon ! Bye, Lana !

There are days in which I almost wish I could turn back time. How sad does that sound ?
Zero tells me it's a perfectly normal feeling, but... It does feel odd, for Hana not to need me as much as she did when she was younger. It only goes downward from there, doesn't it ?
But, at the same time, I am so proud of her. She's gotten the hang of writing and reading so quickly - well, of course it isn't perfect, as I am not a teacher and don't really know what the heck im doing (the essence of parenthood right there, isn't it ?) but she is honestly doing better than expected. She's a little ball of energy and I am starting to wonder if it's even possible for her to run out of it.
Must be all that sugar water.
The dance classes are going well. Still being harassed for a puppy. I don't think she's ever gonna give that up. With summertime, I hadn't really gotten the time to go and try to find one, and get everything that's needed... With the heat, my brain is goop half the time, anyway.
Hopefully ill get over this. There's no way to turn back time, after all...

Hi Lana !
Im sorry, it's been a long time since I wrote to you. Things have been pretty busy. I started school, and so far I like it ! Well, I don't like having to stay sitting and listen for so long but it's fun when we go on trips and such.
I also got a puppy, Lana ! I know, about time right ? Hee ! Well, I got her maybe a month or so ago. I named her Mika, she's tiny tiny but daddy said she would get much bigger. She's so fun, I play fetch and walk her with daddy and it's so fun ! I love Flow too, but Mika is really easier to play with. Daddy said I need to be careful not to hurt her but I think he's just being silly.
Halloween was fun, I was dressed up as a fairy and I got tons of candy ! Daddy had to carry pails for me, I had three full by the time we where done ! Halloween is so great, I love candy~ Why can't it be halloween every day, Lana ? It would be so fun ! But I guess you would eventually run out of costumes.
Uh oh... I better get started on my homework before daddy sees im not doing it. Talk to you later, Lana !
