Sorry that you're having your faith shaken, but it can come out stronger in the long run.

1st off, I truly believe God doesn't expect us to have all the answers or understand how the world was actually made - our relationship with him is more important than our understanding (God loves all of us - he doesn't care what our IQ is!) (Not implying anyone's stupid, just God's so much smarter than ALL of us put together!)

I had a professor in college who taught evolution as a fact - and it shook me! But then I got to thinking - he really didn't explain how this "chance" mutation managed to happen not just once, but enough to establish a breeding population for a new species! The odds against 2 genetic mutations being formed at the same time in the same vicinity seem pretty slim to me. And understand me - we're not just talking about a color change, but a true DNA change! Remember, if you mate a horse and a donkey you get a mule, but a mule isn't viable, it can't have babies and procreate. You need two new mutations who are actually viable to breed.

For evolution to be true these "chance mutations" wouldn't have to happen just once or twice, but millions (billions?) of times!

Just wonder if it occurs to anyone else the way it occurs to me...science is terrific, i love all the convienences it brings and the medicine that helps so many over come sickness and injury but science is a quest for knowledge.

so do scientists not realize they aren't trying to figure out if the universe was 'created' but rather how it was created?
