Sashmo
I Think You Said It Yourself , Me and all my friends black, white, asian , gay straight, disable whatever! whatever our little "difference" is that is taken negatively my the majority of the public ( N*****, f** , Dyke, etc) We make fun of it and turn it around (to take the offence and power of te word away from it's meaning!
We joke about it and give it comedy value to show how stupid and funny we think others are by using it!

I Think it depends on the person using it
this will seem stupid and weird , but my friends and myself do use some words affectionatly (sp)

One of my friends mothers called him her little fairy or "whos my favourate little poof" but she means no harm by it!
I joke about with a friend saying he's my pet f** and i'm his pet dyke !

I use the words a lot and when i'm out with friends because prejudice people actually find it shocking to hear two gay people insulting themselves and at the same time we're showing them we don't care about the words they call us! if that makes any sense!

Little things like walking with my black friend in town when someone called in an f-ing N*****, we both looked at the guy who was all cocky and smiling and then looked at each other laughed and shouted back "why don't you call me a w*g while you're at, N***** is SOOOOOOOOOOO last season!"

I guess we just do it to say hey we don't care they are only words so shove you!

I hope that made sense lol! and i didn't offend anyone!

Makes sense... Hell I still shock my FAMILY with my use of the words... (and I use them all the time around the house) my mom particularly hated the term "f** hag" at first... which... really isn't an offensive term, its just a nickname for those girls who hang out with nothing but gay men. She's so cute, she's just like "it sounds so negative!"

But yeah, like we were out at Bike Week in Daytona, and I had some family down for it, so we were all at the house they had rented for the week and we see these older (obvious lesbians) go by on harleys, and I was like "oh look, Dykes on Bikes" lol Which they laughed at, but my mother and sister still find it so shocking that I use those words... Course Dykes on Bikes is actually a club here in Orlando of lesbian bikers...

But yeah... I use dyke and f** in the most endearing way, and I try to make them just common... honestly if I call someone a dyke or a f**, that just means i care, lol. Its true though, I only call my friends dykes or fags...

I'm a musical theatre performer, and last weekend when we were doing the show, I was outside smoking with our pianist, and two other castmates, one of which is my gay friend Jared. Well he was talking about how he needed to go inside and change costumes before intermission was over and I said something like "well get in there you big f**" and the pianist who's also gay was like "you say that like its a bad thing" I was just like "... coming from a dyke like me, its a term of endearment" lol.

Speaking of the show... I've really gotta go do stuff before call *poof*

It doesn't bother me when people say f** or gay, unless the person they're saying it to is hurt by it. But personally I think words are just that- words.

Desirable Ai
I absolutely hate the "N" word. So much. Most people don't know this about me, but I am Black, White, Hispanic, Irish, German, and Japanese. I'm not lieing. The "N" word just really ticks me off because I'm part black, but I also hate it when blacks blame most things on white people. It's not fair to me.

I actually do say things with "gay" in it. I'll say "OMG! That's gay!" or.. "He's looks so gay." I'm not trying to make it sound as a bad thing, I'm trying to make it sound as if it's something I don't like. I'm not saying I hate gays though. I LOVE Asian gay guys. XD So damn sexy. .. Anyways.. bash me if you want, I won't care. >_O

f**/f*****t is another word I don't like. It doesn't even /sound/ like a word to me. I don't see why people have to come up with these insulting names and stereotypes anyways.. confused

If someone said "c**k sucker" to a complete whore, then I'd accept it. After all, they are what they are. But, if they were to say it to someone else, then I'd get upset.

one im quoting u cuz u said that gay asian guys are cool*glomps you* because im half asian half american mutt and im bi

two im quoting u to give u a little history on the word f*****t...in old english a f*****t is a small dry stick used to start fires. this term was applied towards gay people when they were burnt from being gay the faggots were placed around them and lit ...so that make the word f*****t older then the N word but it hasnt become as popular because many gay people hide in the past where as black people cant really hide so the N word was used more

I only use those words when I'm playing woth Ken, my boyfriend. (No. Not sexual play) I might say, "You'e such a f**." if he does something really fem, but other than that, I only say those words if I'm quoting someone.

Well I am a older than the average Gaian so I don't use the word "gay" to describe something. I have used the words f** and dyke (sorry). My cousin is gay (I don't like that word...sounds like 'too happy' to me) and refers to himself and his husband as "fags" or "queers".

Isn't 'f**' another word for cigarette? I always thought so, oh well.

I think it depends on the person being called the name. I personally think "lezbo" and "homo" are FAR more insulting that dyke and f**. I also don't care much for "homosexual", what does that mean? We are ALL homo sapiens so how can someone be homosexual? I think it sounds like another race of people, which is wrong, isn't it? Aren't we supposed to all be the same?

I believe that if you're gay go ahead and use the words f**, dyke or whatever you want! Black people use the N word to refer to each other why can't gay's use whatever word they want?! I'm part Mexican and I get offended if a Caucasian person refers to me as a "beaner" yet I use that word.

As for cocksucker, I don't know any gay men that are offended by that, I think if you call a straight man that they get WAY more offended!

Just my opinion redface

I use the word f*****t when there are dirty faggots around...

There is a very distinct difference between a f*****t, and a gay guy. I personally dislike fags because they give the term gay a whole other meaning not related so sexual orientation. To be gay these days means you HAVE to wear the latest fashion, be a slut, and live up to some stereotype, according to faggots. The word gay now consist of an empire corrupted with the people who are under it's definition, which are giving it a new, horrible, disgusting name.

It's really quite sad.

I never use words like those (exept if they were used by someone in a text or something and I'm referring to it of course) simply because even though I wouldn't care what people call me I know that it'll hurt some people and I don't wanna do that without a reason. Besides since it offends other people I find it disrespectful to use those terms...

Well.....I am 15 and I do not allow my family to say any words like f** or queer or gay around me. Respect for others starts at home.

okay, I read the first post and noticed a reference to the N word. Now im half black and understand the term more than many people. The reason the N word became so powerful was because it was used to seperate the owner from the servant. People used it to control blacks and "put them in their place" so to speak. because heterosexuals do not own homosexuals, I don't think words like dyke and f** will ever get as strong as the N word, but it is offensive. Like the post says, just roll with the punches.

Hah, the most offensive thing anyone could call me could possibly be.... hmm.... Not sure. Words don't usually piss me off, I just reply with an insult in German and call it a day. neutral But uh, I think it's silly that calling a Jew a Jew will piss him/her off. I can call a Christian a Christian and they won't be offended... so what's the deal? ninja

i don't take gay, or dyke or any of that offensively when it's referring to sexuality...but when someone's all like "this is so gay" i just want to punch them in the face.

f** and f*****t....OMFG don't get me started, i hate it when people use that. it ******** pisses me off

Words hurt.

I was called Gay.

Yet, I am not. ):

I am Straight. Taking away the meaning is a good Strategy. (:

f*****t means, 'Bundle of Twigs.' biggrin
