What I hate is how the religious right say that since these coins have this saying, you have to believe in God to be in American. After that, they complain about how atheists could probably have a problem with it. If it were considered merely historical as a saying, I wouldn't really have a problem.

Also, what I don't like is how we have to say "Under God" especially since it wasn't even originally in there. If you want to say it than fine, but it should be optional, put it in italics or something, I mean why should we have to believe in God just to live here?

I don't care so much about the AD/BC thing. I hear, there is also a CE and a BCE term.

Luckily, instead of BC (forget what this one is) and Anno Domini , there are BCE (Before Common Era) and CE (Common Era). They're the same years, like 1 BC is the same year as 1 BCE, so it still revolves around Christ, but at least the names are secular. It'd be really confusing if we changed the point the years ran down to.

For the second one, it is politically incorrect not only because of the separation of church and state, but because monotheism is not the only one. There is polytheism and ATHEISM, which is what the gov should naturally be; without religious influence at all. They only added them during our paranoia in the Cold War. The "Under God" in the pledge, too. It'd be nice to see them removed. But it's not a huge concern for me what's printed on our currency so long as it doesn't hold true in government practice.

I never say "under God" in the pledge. Never.

No it doesn't. It just says in god we trust. Guess what, this country was founded by christians. Sorry that pisses you off dude.
The athiests I know don't care...why? Because it's a non-issue. It's screaming persecution when it's not meant that way.

'In God We Trust' was added during the cold war to oppose the communists (somehow) who were secular.
