:Medixia nearly goes rigid as her phone rings. Yes. She really, really wasn't expecting it. She blinks as she pulls out her cell phone. She's not too surprised to see 'unknown number' on the display. It could be another doctor. It could also be one of her military sponsors. She opens the phone and merrily responds.:
Hello.

The voice on the other end is..odd. There's a silence at first..then a low, bitter sounding voice, that resembles an old woman. It's odd, it's not a familiar voice..
"Ah, finally, we speak. Perhaps I have been neglecting my duties, but it has taken some time to locate this number. Perhaps it may be somewhat intrusive to speak to you in this fashion..but I have been wanting to discourse with you for some time."
There is a pause..then the voice speaks again.
"I want you to come to where I am currently situated. I am sure I will be easy to find. Come to the far end of island one. The area I am at is mostly barren of any activity, and I doubt we would attract much attention. You will need to come quickly. While I am a patient woman, I do not enjoy waiting. I will have answers for your questions when you arrive."
and there is a click..and a dead tone..

:There are two things the person on the other end of the phone might not have realized. One. Medixia has been so shut off from humanity that 'frightens easily' has been used to describe a defense tactic she's developed not to hurt anybody. Two. Medixia's one bright bulb. How else can one still be a teenager and have a medical license? Unless Seafoam is just desperate for medical practitioners... There are things that come to mind in the conversation. The first is...:
What questions do I have besides...who are you?!
:Shaking her head, she just continues to think as she begins to walk. Okay, she's almost running. Xin and Giga easily keep up. A 'barren' spot where attention won't easily be attracted? It's like something out of a horror flick! She shakes her head, almost not believing what she's actually contemplating. She digs for that bracelet 'J' left her.:
Could it be 'J'?
:The gifts don't match. 'J' has all the mannerisms of a male. At least that's what the gifts indicate. She shakes her head. That's no true indication, and she knows it! She stuffs the bracelet back where it was and continues to move on. At least she knows she can rely on Xin's powers. Giga might be another story, but they're both reliable. She closes her eyes and begins to march. After a step, her eyes are wide open.:
I should just be more determined!
:She sighs... She wonders how long it will take to get to the 'far end' of Island 1. She shakes her head. At least she might be able to find out something by going...:

Where the voice indicated actually, is more like an isolated part of the beach, on the back end of the island. Depending on how long it takes her to get there..well, it won't matter. The figure is waiting there when she arrives, no matter how long it takes. And what a figure it is. Three of them, in fact. Three figures standing, waiting..though the one that spoke is obvious in its not being so obvious.
The first figure, standing in front, is in an elegant, gothic red dress that looks like something out of the 16th century. She seems to stand tall, proud, but slightly bent, as if aged. She holds a cane, and her body is entirely covered..her hands are gloved, and her face is hooded over, and veiled as well. Only her deep green eyes are visible, and there's a vast authority in them, brought on by age. behind her is a woman in a military suit, and a beret. That woman's hair is blonde, long, and in curls. Despite her soft face, she has a haunted look in those blue eyes of hers.
Then there's the third. Short red hair, sunglasses..she's in a black military uniform, not unlike Seafoam's, but there's a bright red 'R' on her chest. That's an insignia..that hasn't been seen in a very long time. She's got a whip at her side.

arrow Island 1...time moves forward
:Medixia approaches the beach with caution. She doesn't know what to expect, and her hand firmly grasps the training bracelet. She doesn't think it'll help all that much in a battle, but it, strangely, gives her a reassurance. She eyes the three figures. Okay. She's outnumbered. Unless her body's poisons have a strong, near instant effect on them...she's not fighter and she knows it. Bowing her head in defeat, she's pretty sure they'll know she's there in very short order. She does her best to calm her nerves, not wanting to spill her poison out too early, and begins to approach. Xin and Giga are close behind, and neither seem too thrilled to see something all of them despise. That red 'R' representing something that is best left dead.:
:Medixia stops a good several meters from them. No matter how fast they move, she'd still have time to release her poisons. She may only be a trainer and not know the extend of her powers, but she still can force herself to release poisons in gaseous form. She also knows the touch of her skin is the most toxic, especially around her lips, so she does have a few things to take advantage of. She waits for them to make the first move.:

The old woman chuckles, walking slowly forward, tapping her cane on the sand as she moves. She seems fairly spry for a lady her apparent age, and she stops about six feet from Medixia. The other two women make no move. It seems like they're there simply as moral support, or something like it. There is a tip of the woman's head..and after a moment of examining Medixia and her friends, she speaks in that same dry, somewhat condescending voice..
"Find what it is you are looking for amongst the relics of the past?"
She then leans forward a bit..before speaking once more.
"I know what you are thinking. You are thinking that your venoms would be fatal to us, were you to catch us with a touch of the hand, or perhaps a kiss..but could you bring yourself to kiss someone else, to end their life? Are you capable of killing with the resources at your command? Is it truly your wish to end a life, the life of a human being, no matter what it is they want?"
The woman walks forward..further..further..until she's not more than a foot from the poison trainer. Again, she chuckles..a derisive sound, mocking, almost..but it's the bitterness in her tone..if there was a stereotype for 'bitter old woman', she fits the bill. But her features..they can't be made out at all. She's hiding them well..
"To never touch another living thing. And even if you could, what would it matter? You are a freak. An abomination, spat out into this world from a womb that cursed your very being. You are a venomous demon, a boil on life itself, a frankenstein's monster made flesh. It is maddening, isn't it. To know that your lips can never touch another's. To know that your flesh will not be able to brush delicately against a lover's..and even if you use artificial methods, you will go to sleep every night, knowing no matter what you do, the more powerful you get, the worse it will become. Can you even carry a child? What would you birth into the world? Hmmm? What if you did not pass on the trait? What if your child was normal? How bittersweet it would be to know you would not give this horrible taint to your baby.."
She sneers then..it's more felt than seen, but those eyes..they're so filled with malice..not at Medixia, but just..at everything..
"Yet also knowing you would NEVER be able to hold her in your own arms. Monsters..do not belong in the world of men, do they? What fate will they have? Hailed as a hero? Hmmm? Then what. A lonely, empty existence, full of nothing but pain, seeing others hold the hands of their loved ones, while you wander, alone, slowly feeling an endless hunger gnawing at your soul for the lack of what they have.."

:Way too close! Medixia stumbles backwards. Of course she didn't want to kill somebody who hadn't even attacked her yet! Still. This woman says something very similar to what 'J' had written in that book. However...this woman says it in a depraved way that sent chills down one's back. Medixia has a small smile on her face, glad to have heard 'J' first. She looks up at the woman, obviously battered by time.:
Maybe I won't know the caress of another. If I do, maybe I won't be able to hold my child.
:She shakes her head. To the best of her knowledge, her kiss is the single, deadliest trait she has. There were traits out there, like steel, supposedly immune to poisons and status effects. Could even they survive the toxicity?:
What about you? You speak as if you know that pain. Are you like me, then? If not, are you taunting me to receive my 'kiss of death'?
:For an easily frightened child, Medixia was used to mind games. She has had companions her entire life. Xin and Giga couldn't touch her bare skin, but she did have clothing that separated herself from them. Still. There is an obvious tear in her eye. It's not really something that could be called sadness, though.:

She says nothing at first..then she turns, and sighs..
"You are stronger than you look. Perhaps I underestimated your resolve. Yes, I know it well. I have known it for on to eighty years now. I was born long before your wars, long before the foolishness humans gained that let them think they could control the most vicious forces in the universe. Yes, I know that horror, I know what it means to be able to touch nothing. I could breathe in your toxic death and laugh..I am Vivienne Devanche..at one time, I was a Mistress here on Seafoam Island..my element.."
She taps her cane twice on the sand again..before turning..
"My element is poison. Like yours. It formed when I was a child. My own parents couldn't touch me. Doctors could do nothing. For years, and years, I wallowed in a basement, not able to know the caress of a lover, or the touch of my parent's hands. My entire existence was sorrow, emptiness, just as yours will be. I know..for almost a century I have known..but there is more. If your cells are like mine..then..perhaps the only way is to show you."
And she reaches up and unties her hood..and the veil...as well as unsnapping the snaps of the dress. And it all falls down..and she stands upright. Her long red hair with green streaks flows like water down her back, all the way to her ankles..and the face..despite the voice, the mannerisms..she doesn't look any older than her twenties..
"The poison slows my metabolism down. I heal so slowly..even magic can't heal me effectively when I'm wounded as well as it would a normal person. But it slows my aging..I'm over eighty years old..but..it won't let me die..this wretched body..just won't let me die.."

:Eighty? Had there been elemental powers for that long? Medixia knows her parents didn't have any elemental powers. She'd almost killed her mother as her powers developed in the womb. She'd almost literally melted her mother's genitalia, so she couldn't have any more children. Instead of cursing her as a monster, her parents sought whatever they could to make life better for their daughter. That's what lead them to Xin, the only psychic pokemon that seemed able to be near her. If the abra is here and Vivienne doesn't react to him, would that indicate which of them is stronger in the element? Okay. Beyond that. She's also kinda standing there naked in front of Medixia now. Doesn't seem to bother her too much. Nope. Even though the girl looks kinda loli and all. One might think she'd become jealous of such a figure?:
I'm only nineteen, so I wouldn't know anything about that. I have found one thing, though. I can use the very poisons my body excretes to heal. If we're anything alike, maybe I can use that same method of healing to help your physical ailments. I am a doctor.
:In her mind, she adds, "Which means I took the Hippocratic Oath." She can do no harm and must aid any who ask, even if they're from Team Rocket.:

"heal..me?"
The old woman voice is gone..hers is deep, at least to a degree, not manly or anything, but definitely not high or cute. Of course, what she does next is just..scary. She gets this look in her eyes kinda like Albedo from Xenosaga does whenever he's going through one of his psycho fits..and she starts laughing. It's not funny laughter, no, it's not like she finds it cute-funny. The laugh is shrill, high, frightening and grating. She tosses her head back, and puts one hand on her face, laughing..it's hard to describe..it's like crying, and laughing, and an animal screaming in pain...and when she lowers her head, she doesn't look ahead..it slumps forward, as her shoulder shake and convulse still, with that psychotic laughter..
"Heal me..? You think you can change the very structure of every cell in my entire body? You think just because we have elemental synergy..because your gift differs..you can do what no technology I MYSELF have come up with, one of the most brilliant minds in all of Team Rocket since it BEGAN, has ever been able to do..?"
She snaps her head up then, snarling, and her eyes are glowing..the ground under her feet bubbling and black..
"Are you insane?! What kind of hubris is that! You can't even control your own power, girl! You think worrying about healing others is worth it? No! Nothing you do will ever make a difference. They will die, and hate our kind, because we are different, we are monsters! Can you even fight? Can you depend on anything besides natural defense? What if I was to try to kill you? NO venom has ever harmed me, and not a one ever will. Then what? What would you do, hmm?"
She's breathing heavily..and the excitement is obviously taxing to her..maybe it's not just Mexidia..no..it seems the poison takes a lot out of a person, that there's a frailty associated with it..and obviously, Vivienne's mind went a long time ago..or at least, it went in a direction no person's was meant to go.

:Medixia certainly didn't find it funny! She almost stares at Vivienne indignantly.:
I can't change cellular structure. I'm not so arrogant...
:Still. The laughter is grating on the ears. Beyond that, Vivienne seems to be extraordinarily taxed by her abilities. If the two behind her are there for support, they'd have to try to get a Poison Master to calm down. Instead of worrying about those two, she stands up and walks towards the venting madwoman.:
Maybe I could fight if I had my weapon with me, but I'm a healer by practice and by choice. You mentioned that healing spells and regular methods of healing don't work well on your body. I hadn't really thought about it because of the shape my powers took, but the Cure spells I know don't do much good on me, either. I don't know if my metabolism is quite like yours. I've never really thought about it.
:She pauses. She doesn't know if she should reach out now or not. She'd really prefer their poisons not collide. The effects are unknown, and the two behind Vivienne might not be able to take anything remotely like that.:
Maybe we can't ever caress a loved one, but we can be near. We can curse our powers all we want, but we can't do a thing if we don't believe in anything. I can't control my powers, but Xin has the psychic addresses of a few Masters and Pokemon. I've offered a hand, but I don't intend to just go out.
:For once, she stands strong. Defiant.:

She kneels down then..gazing at the sand. The anger's all melted out of her, and all that's left is resignation..sadness. She's old. Even though her body doesn't show it, it's obvious in her eyes. Her hatred, her anger, is all that keeps her going. It's easy to see that. If she just sat with her own thoughts, and the hollow in her soul, she'd be more insane than what she seems to be now. the red haired woman stands impassive, but the blonde one looks so sad..it seems like she hates seeing her companion upset. It's obvious that one has a soul remaining..but the other one, with those shades on, it's impossible to tell.
"Perhaps you are right..or perhaps you are not. But there is nothing left for me. I have chosen you..one day, you will be my successor. My power has grown over the years, and all it has brought me is more gain for only myself. It will be the same for you. If your cells end up evolving the way mine did, you will last for hundreds of years. I have too much dignity to end my own life. You'll need this."
She reaches for a glove, and placing it on her hand, she reaches into a pocket hidden in her dress folds, within her discarded dress. She flicks it at the young girl in front of her..what she pulls from that fold. It's a card. A card with a number.
"That is a private extension. I am extending you an offer to join us. Neo Rocket will always need more like yourself. Your medical skills and your strong will would be a great asset. Think about it. Don't just refuse right now on some foolish principle. Take a week. A month. Even a year. Take your time, then when you find yourself, let us know your answer. It might make a great difference.."
And she stands, placing her dress back on, as well as the hood, gloves, veil, and she lifts the cane. Once again, she stoops forward..the bend in her body seeming to be from fatigue..but also from the weight of her own sorrows..
"Because on this island, the only thing you will end up doing, is dying. You won't be able to save any of them from what is to come. And it is time for myself, and my compatriots to go, before we are discovered. Team Rocket is..disliked here."
And the other two turn..and all three walk off..towards the water. After a moment, a black submarine surfaces, with a great red 'R' on its side..

:Medixia looks at the card. Of course she'd refuse! She hates Team Rocket as much as anybody else on the Seafoam archipelago. They're the reason for one of the wars. It's strange to hear Vivienne talk about existing before there was a war. In human existence...when hasn't there been war? She sighs. It's one thing about Team Rocket. Perhaps they just couldn't see the good side of humanity. Vivienne's been all alone for far too long. Her companions...didn't keep her the company she needed.:
If you return, Vivienne...maybe then I can help you...
:She can't deny her nature of healing and helping. She may hate what Team Rocket has done, but she can't bring herself to hate the people. Was it just the Hippocratic Oath? Was it just empathy? Maybe it was the feeling of knowing what it's like to have a power cursed by oneself and others around you. She sighs. She wants, more than ever, to go to the Psychic Mistress and really train her abilities.:
Come on guys. It's time to go.
:She turns to head home.:

arrow Up in the sky; it's a bird..it's a plane..oshi- covvies!
Maybe it's coincidence. Maybe not. Either way, at first glance it would probably be mistaken for a shooting star, way up in the sky. Then Seafoam's satellite system would pick it up as a large incoming object out in space. Then it comes down into the atmosphere...making a fire trail as it comes. Whatever it is, it's a fireball as it comes down, though it doesn't seem to lose any of its shape as it comes down. When it comes down finally, it hits the water with a loud hiss, kicking up steam..and just keeps going down..down into the deep. Whatever it is, it's huge..it kicks up a wave that rises up and crashes down hard, shattering the docks partially..
