Feeling a bit ashamed himself, though for multiple reasons, Ash quickly gathered himself up and rose to his paws, shaking out his mane slightly. What a fall that was! He never really know how big and heavy he had gotten until that moment when his fact had hit dirt. It hadn't been a very comfortable realization...
As Jini and Kit both expressed worry for him, he flushed slightly under his skin, though it wasn't noticeable thanks to his dark purple fur. "Aah, I'm fine," he murmured. "Just a bit shaken... is all. You really surprised me Kit," he laughed, flicking his tail affectionately against her.
Glancing over at the other male, his ears perked as Jini seemed to blame himself for the mouse getting away. Shaking his great head, he moved over towards the Pridelander and nudged him gently, hesitantly, with his nose. "Don't worry about it. I missed it too," he smiled sheepishly. "Maybe we could find another one, though?" he suggested. He wanted to make both of them feel better. If Kit had wanted to play with a mouse, then why not? And why not give Jini another chance?
He believed it was a good idea...

Kit's usual grin returned and she went to give Jini another reassuring nudge. "No, it was my fault," she said decidedly. "I should've let you two know before I stopped and roared. Anyone would let a mouse get away if they thought an enemy lion was ready to attack them!" She chuckled, though her eyes flashed with kindness towards Jini. When Ash spoke, Kit's eyes lit up and she nodded enthusiastically.
"Just one rule, then!" she said brightly. "No hurting the mouse, of course. After all, we're only playing with it!" She knew that neither of her gentle friends needed to be told this, but she decided she needed to learn to be more firm, in case she and Ash ever had cubs of their own.
With that, she dropped into something similar to a hunter's crouch, though her claws were carefully sheathed as she stalked through the grass to find another mouse.
