Shi_Yatsu Well actually that a gametrailers.com link sweatdrop gamevideos.com never works for me for some reason, I have to download the videos to see them. Although they always seem to have stuff before anyone else. I saw some gameplay for Gears of War on there... Beautiful! Now there's a shooter you can set your watch to! Unrivaled gore, when the infidels have sinned, they must be purified with the mighty chainsaw! *BZZZZZZ!* xd Although stricly speaking it's a third person shooter... eek Gears of Wars is really like that?! Must watch now! 3nodding

Dude, I saw some footage of Gears and well...
HOLY CRAP! eek
It took looks freaking fantastic, it looks better than Resistance and heck, it looks a lot better than even Halo 3. I mean my God, I saw a boss battle, multiplayer and other segments, but everything looked amazing. And oh the chainsaw, cuts them right in half, brutal beauty at it's best.

Unfortuanly Gears Of War is only 8 hours long, so you should only buy it if you plan to take it online.
Anyway, Yeah I picked up a Wii at launch day. So far I've yet to put it down, what with Zelda and now Marvel, and I plan to pick up a couple other games. If the games run dry, I still have my trusty PS2 and Xbox.

Yeah, it's the online that really shines. You get a nice 4 on 4 bout going with some in-depth strategy. That's the case for most shooters though. Usually the single player isn't that long, which is fine, because who really plays shooters for the single player anyway rolleyes I've got about 28 hours on Metroid Prime Hunters... And about 15 minutes of that was single player xd

Although a few FPS have an intersting enough or just a strange enough story that make you want to play through story mode, games like Half-Life and even Red Faction.

True, I even had a mini rant about it in the Halo 3 thingy... But even those games are best for their multiplayer. People have done some AMAZING s**t online with the Half Life 2 mod tools... Red Faction on the PS2 had some nice a** multiplayer... If you let a bot get ahold of a Rail Driver, it's OVER!

Ihave actually played some of those Half Life 2 multiplayer matches, granted I get killed faster than a prom dress gets taken off, but I have fun. But I remember Skunch showing me this one mod game for the first Half Life called The Specialist or something like that, it was like The Matrix games but better...a lot better. xd

Oh yeah, the original half-life has like hundreds of mods floating around. They've had time to perfect them (I'm not sure if any people still mod for that game though).
And yeah, it's the only reason I bought MPH. I played the single cartidge mode at a friends and got hooked. That game alone justifies my wireless router 3nodding I don't play much anymore, but very sunday I use the chat feature in friend wifi mode to orchistrate Portable Ops goodness. The game that keeps on giving xd
I think the only FPS I've bothered with single player in is Metroid Prime on Gamecube. Since it was designed to be offline it was great. I would have played Half Life 2 Single, but my sister had a full version on her PC WITHOUT the disc, which was bugged to bejesus and back (when you got to a certain rail car and had to jump into the roof the game froze. You could run around and kick stuff IN the car, but there was no way out and the story progression froze)
