Despite being a huge fan of the book and knowing ahead of time that they were going to screw it up, I went ahead and saw it. I didn't expect much from it, but surprisingly, it was actually a good movie. It was hard for me to get over all the huge changes they made at first, but if you look at it as a movie that is (very) loosely based on the book, or if you consider it a movie completely independent from the book, then it's a half decent movie.

aw man. I was so excited about that movie when I heard it was coming out and I squealed like a super-evil j-rock fangirl of doom. And then, I, of course, finally watched the trailer. xp dear god why?
As far as I can tell from the trailer, the movie is in a different country, the human is a tourist, the bad guy is (book-verse) Vivian's potential luff-stuff, and they've turned it into a pathetic action-thriller with a side of lycan.
I'll have to actually watch the movie after I have forgotten half of the book so I can stomach it. If only so I can say I have. I might like it as a completely seperate story-line, who knows? Though, if they had changed all of that they should've just changed names and called it something different. I feel sorry for the author, she really had no say whatsoever. But, I definitely recommend the book for a good read, slightly short but good. I loved it the first time and the other twenty-six times I read it.

I have seen the movie in question, and I rather liked it. I have conferred with a fellow vampire/werewolf colleague about the book and she was quite.;... disappointed about the book. She had told me that the moral of the story was to stay within your own species, end of discussion. The movie held a similar trial, but a different solution. Mind you it was no Anita Blake, lol, but it was still good.

Just watched the trailer..
They took the name of the book and the name of all the major characters... and then screwed the rest of it up. What the hell?!
When it's released here, IF it gets released here, maybe just the DVD.. I'll watch it for a laugh. But I can't take it seriously.
That was a good book.
