my dog ate my sanity Also works with 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 15, 19 etc. But no one expects 17. All the other numbers they catch on.

And 17 doesn't? Think about it, it's the number right after 16, and before 18, it's not inconspicuous at all. If you want inconspicuous you need a butterfly. Nobody ever suspects the butterfly.
