No sucked in her breath, and moved forward. “No- I don’t need a goddess. I’ve heard little about them but... I want to be important for me. Not because of who I meet and what I do. I want to actually do something!” This time, a bit impassioned, she stumbled backwards, and rose one of her paws. “People spend so much time doing nothing with themselves except falling in love and playing. I want to do something important, something that actually matters. Something, you know- like kings and queens do. The stuff people talk about. I want to do something good.” As she spoke, she walked backwards, focusing her pale jade eyes on her paws. Something that would make her parents proud and her brothers and sisters jealous.
Something that lions here would hear about- and they’d think about her. ‘Wasn’t that little No? Ausi’s girl?’ That was what she wanted to do. She wanted...and yet, knowing so much of how she wanted it, she didn’t know exactly what it was she wanted to do.
She was getting a sinking suspicion she might never do anything...

Inari watched No, he was in awe of her. She knew what sort of thing she'd like to do, even if the specifics of it weren't clear to her it seemed. She wanted to be something grand, he had no doubt in his mind that she would become just what she wanted. With a lioness cub with such determination. confidence, courage and strength, he knew one day he would hear her name, and be jealous, but proud he had met her.
"Perhaps one day you'll make a pride...I could see you as a queen, leader of a pride where the name was known by all, a pride with pride in themselves, helping others, yes," Inari said with a nod. He could see No being a queen, he had no doubt in his mind.
Inari just wanted to get stronger, be something worth being, perhaps a warrior, to protect those he cared about, to be strong so everyone would give him respect, but he was still small, still a cub. He wanted to grow big and strong now, but it seemed too far away for him. "I hope I can do something good too..."
His eyes looked up in the sky, it was changing colors already, darn, he would have to start heading home soon. He didn't want to leave quite yet, he wanted to stay here and talk with No, they both seemed to have similar goals, he liked being around her. "I have to head home soon No," Inari said lowly, he was disapointed, his ears fell back a little. "Can I come find you again sometime?" He hoped he could, perhaps No would be able to guide him in the right direction of how to do something good.

No shook her head, and took a deep sigh. “No...I don’t think I want to make a pride. Not something like that.” her tail curled as she sat, leaning her weight on the other side of her body. “Something greater. Maybe there isn’t anything greater.” She moped and flattened her ears, taking a low sigh. “I just...I don’t want to be a kid anymore. I want to grow up. I’m sick of being tiny and not doing nothing.” No meeped, and rubbed her paw against her cheek. She didn’t fully understand what had happened to their king- but she could only think if she had been older, perhaps through some random incident she might have been able to...
But even No knew that was just foolish thoughts. Perhaps what she was really tired of was being idle. Something was calling her. She just wasn’t sure what it was yet. And it burned her body to sit here waiting.
Inari’s voice brought her back, and she turned to look at him. “Um...sure, I don’t go anywhere.” She spoke, a slight pang of bitterness passing across her chest as she did. Always the same thing every day... “I guess mum will be missing me soon as well.”

Inari smiled at No, and flicked his tail to the side, "Then perhaps when we get older we'll both do something great, maybe someday you'll travel and find what you're looking for No." Perhaps she would find it out there, looking in the distance towards the edge of the Pridelands, where the rougelands broke off into the sunset.
He turned around but stopped, turned his gaze to look at her and offered a warm smile, "You'll do something great, if anyone can do something spectacular, it's you No," he waved a paw at her and whispered, "bye," and began to head home in the direction of where his siblings were probably already getting ready to sleep.
Today had been a good day, he made a friend, her name was No, and one day everyone would know her name.
