That's right, folks. Ever since the college semester started, in August 14, I've been feeling a constant stress that makes me want to scream aloud and kill everyone within my reach. (Don't worry, I'll never do it).

However, I still really believe this semester is gonna ruin my health in a really nasty way. During most of the week, everything I do at home is homework, homework, and more homework. And I have to multi-task all those homeworks, because I'm studying networks and telecomms engineering, and 4 out of my 6 subjects are math subjects (advanced calculus, digital design, mechanics and statistics). All those homeworks are so lengthy I can't even manage to do them all. I've already missed a LOT of homeworks, as a matter of fact. Just to put up even more pressure, I'm doing some business with a friend, and I barely even have enough time to take care of that.

As a matter of fact, today I actually had to drink a can of Red Bull just to be able to do all the homework... and I usually drink Red Bull only in case of serious emergency.

Do you think I'm gonna be able to hold all this hypertasking until December?

Update: Scroll down the first page. I don't think I'll be allowed to drop a subject, if only to keep my mind sane.

From the sound of it...not likely. sweatdrop Have you considered dropping a couple classes? It's really bad that you're so stressed and swamped in work that you think your health is at stake.

A very common problem college freshmen always do to themselves. They swamp themselves with too many classes, become overwhelmed, and some (not all) result in a breakdown. You need to drop a few classes. Since you're just starting it is best to take maybe half of those courses for now. Because if you keep this up you will drop out by your second year. Most freshmen do. Are you in a university setting or junior college?

Can you drop a class or two? Six seems like a lot to me, most people I know (in the US anyway) take 4, 5 maximum. You can always take the class again another quarter, and honestly it is better than failing or just doing mediocre because of the huge workload. College should be difficult, but it shouldn't overwhelm you.

Update:

OK, now I think I'm into some really serious s**t. I just got ******** by my digital design teacher, and I just can't do my homework. I also have to help my friend, because tomorrow is our statistics test, and even though statistics is really easy and intuitive, he knows nothing (and "nothing" means ******** NOTHING AT ALL).

I just reviewed the terms of my student loan and it says I only have the right to drop 4 subjects over the 5 years that make up my career. I'll be able to drop a subject within a couple of months, but they won't give me any refund. That causes another problem: my parents won't let me drop a subject, because they'll think they'll have wasted a lot of cash in vain, and they're paying my tuition.

So, considering the familiar implications of this, tell me, is it safe to drop a subject, even though it might cause even more familiar stress?

(And remember: tuitions in Mexico are ******** cheap, an average college costs $600 each month).

Well it all boils down to this: drop a few classes as we have suggested and get your parents a little ticked off OR you could continue as you are, fail, and dropout completely which would no doubtedly "F" you over entirely. *shrugs* I would go with the former over the latter that way I can still recover my losses but hey that's just my sensible thinking.

I still say drop a class. It's better to do well in the ones you do have, instead of keeping all of them and doing poorly. If you do poorly, you will have to explain that to any future employers. It looks a lot better if you drop a class and simply say that you could not handle the workload, especially if you end up taking it later and do well.

And I don't think dropping a single class would be too much money, if you are taking 6. But I don't know for sure.

xd
I don't mean to be rude.
But, why are you on here if you have so much work?
If you just need a break, I totally understand.
mrgreen

But;
I think you should drop a subject.

Good luckkk with whatever you decide to do!

I just realized that I'm a big, big, big failure at digital design. I made my choice right now: I'm gonna drop it. I'll talk to my parents today... but I dunno... I feel like my car is gonna get grounded just for talking to them about that... crying
