Here's a scary thought, I just bumped this thread to the fourth page! eek

On a lighter note, I hear that it's good luck to keep your girlfriends pubic hairs in your wallet.
Crazy eh?

Not sure if it's exactly superstition, but it's considered very rude to insert your chopsticks into your food (especially a bowl of rice) or to wear yukatas/kimonos/karate uniforms with the collar reversed.

regarding chopsticks- thats rude

regarding wafuku collars- there are 2 reasons for this, in ancient china right over left was considered a sign of barbarianism because it was easier to tie. that was adopted in japan.

the second reason, a japanese invention, is that dead peoples clothes are right over left.

Oh... I write in red but not all the time!! I don't like the sound of clipping your nails at night.... I wonder ... Has anything even happened to the people that clip their nails at night?

The writing in red thing I've heard mention by a Korean acquaintance of mine here on Gaia. Apparently, if you write a name with a red pen, it's like a deathwish for the person who's name you're writing. Possibly, it's the same in Japan?
