"Mignon, give it back," demanded Kilah with a snort. It was her baby! She had found it, so she could do what she wanted with it. And what she wanted was to get rid of the stupid thing.
Try as he might, Momoro couldn't help but be curious. "What do you plan to do with it?"
"I'm gonna put it in a basket and put the basket in the river. Or the ocean, probably, because it's bigger."

Mignon held the baby closer. "No! It'd be scary, and she'd cry, and there wouldn't be a mommy to come save her!" Mignon sniffled at the thought.
"Oh, my Kilah, why are you being so.. so... mean?!" The onion girl wailed, clearly on her way to having a tantrum.

All she needed to do was say his name. Frankly, the boy was more then happy to leave, and did so quite quickly. Giving Mignon (well, her voice) one of those classic Kilah looks, she waited until the boy was no longer in hearing distant. "What the hells wrong with you? It's a stupid baby. I'll put it in the basket and send it down the river and somebody will find it and take care of it."

"But what if she falls out? She could drown!" She wailed. "Or mean, bad people could hurt her! If you take care of her, she'll grow up and be big and she'll be your friend!" Just the thought of someone getting hurt nearly shorted her little brain out.

"Sisters are NOT friends!" Speaking of friends, how did she end up best friends with someone like this? Had it been anyone else, Kilah wouldn't have tolerated any of this, let alone her annoying prodding to keep the dumb baby around.
Frustrated, she sat where she was and crossed her arms. "If you're gonna cry about it I won't throw the stupid baby in the stupid river."

That put Migin a slightly better mood. She snuffled once again, looking down at the baby. "Good." She wanted to say more, but that was the only word she could decide on.
She perked up at another thought. "I think Yama should let you name her. Since you found her. You're smart, so you could think up a great name!" She stuck out her tounge slightly. "It'd be better than Mignon, in any case!"

"I don't wanna name it. I don't even want it here!" Kilah could think of a few names she'd like to call this baby...
"Nothing wrong with your name." As for Noyama, she wasn't even sure where she was, or if she was back from...wherever. "Yama's on a trip, though. Maybe Sango wants it."

Mignon smiled, putting the baby back on the ground. She patted the baby's hair and stood up, looking over at Kilah. She threw her arms around the other girl's shoulders and gave a squeeze.
"I better go home before supper, or mommy won't be happy." She pulled away and gave Kilah a bright smile, a wave, and ran back towards Bob.
