You really want to de-emphasize the "I" in japanese writing. I know it's hard because in English we use pronouns all the time and we have to have subjects to have a complete sentence, but in Japanese subjects are usually implied, and you really only ever need to use "watashi" to clarify a sentence is about you.

Try translating this with the vocab I posted earlier. Even though I wrote "I", try not to use watashi:
Next week school starts. I'm not looking forward to it. I miss summer break. It will be winter soon, I don't like snow.

Well, one of the hard things about translating into Japanese is the way character is so easily portrayed in Japanese-- to get a well-fitting, good translation, the translator would have to know the person's (in this case, your) personality or way of speaking (or how you want to seem or speak).
Of course, you could always get a "standard" translation, which would most likely be in the polite form and possibly a bit odd on Japanese ears, but serving nonetheless.
