SO Aerith... I think he and Tifa were like brother and sister (like me and my ex bf XD we broke up a couple weeks ago sweatdrop we were just friends rly xp )... but they COULD work out... CloudxYuffie NO WAY imo sweatdrop (no offense to those of you who think he and Yuffie SHOULD be together.. just my opinion biggrin )

I have a better answer...
He was attracted to none of them. Sephiroth was his only concern. He admired Aeris, yes, for her innocence, devotion to friends, and optimism, but wasn't attracted to her. Tifa is his best friend, though if one looks closely enough to the game's subtext, one will see that his childhood feelings were strewn to the wayside the moment he decided to live Zack's life. Yuffie was seen as a partner in his goal of annihilating Sephiroth. Remember, it goes like this--
Aeris-sister figure.
Tifa-best friend.
Yuffie-ally.
Quite a simple deduction.

Actually Chiaka, he and Tifa were never friends. [[Hard to say since I'm a Cloti fan]] As a child he was isolated from her group of friends and so they never knew each other. But Cloud admired Tifa fiercely, a childhood crush. However, throughout the game, the promise they made to each other kept them together...with Tifa kind of instigating it, but the fact was that he wanted to protect her. He cared for her, despite all the years they've been apart.

However, I think it's pretty obvious that Tifa wanted to be friends with Cloud and vice verse. They also didn't seem to have enough time to develop anything with one another. First their were those guys that always hung around Tifa. Those guys were basically mean to Cloud when Tifa wasn't around. I don't think Tifa knew what those guys were really doing. Then there was the death of her mother, in which she didn't want to talk with anyone. (That I can understand) Then their was Tifa's father who blamed Cloud for her coma. (Poor Tifa couldn't defend him since she was unconscious) The only time Cloud and Tifa seemed to have time to talk was by the well. I hear lots of people say that Tifa never wanted to be friends with Cloud. If that were true then she wouldn't have went to the well when he called for her and she wouldn't have made that promise with him. So no they weren't good friends but they were friendly to each other and I'm sure they both wanted to be better friends then they were.

i say tifa. if i remember right, in his messed up memory he thought that he and tifa had dated, so he obviously likes her a lot. he definitely liked aerith too, but she served more as a mother figure to everyone, including cloud.
if i had it my way though, i would rather have him like yuffie. but she's not really all that important to the immediate story involving cloud.

If her friends let her be friends with Cloud, they would've been real close. Just like that at the well scene, they talked as if they've known each other for years. Tifa was also saddened that Cloud would leave and even made a promise with him. biggrin It says a lot about them already.

I say Aerith. I would say why, but I could go on and on and on with why, I think so. I think Cloud will get with Tifa in the future, but not right now. I just don't see it at the moment. I really think he will remain single for life. ^^'
