I assure you the guild is growing...me as well as some of the other crew members recruit when we find a viable canidate. I accept two or three people in to the guild each week...I don't know how many the other crew members are bringing in. The guild is recovering from a almost death. There was a week period where ABSOLUTELY nothing happened. It's doing better now hopefully the new members are actually interested in being an active part of the guild. This guild will grow and be more productive as time goes on, you have my word.

I like that I haven't found any bigots.....yet
I don't like that I haven't found any bigots....It's hard to argue without them, I need to get better at debating.

I like that we're all free-thinkers and come up with some pretty deep ideas. Everyone does their part to contribute. I like that we don't have roving idiots to turn a thoughtful discussion into a flame war. I like that the name of the guild makes it sound like we're all Philosopher junkies trying to rehabilitate... like "Alcoholics Anonymous." I'm sure that was the original intention.
I don't like that we are so small, but I'm doing my best to recruit and spark interest in it. But I try to watch out for flaming debators. Nothing annoys me more than a response of "You're an idiot," screaming in CAPS or flooding the page with 20 pages that are quotes from the bible. I don't mind bible-debating and all, but dang - people don't need to repeatedly quote every line they can find relating to the topic. I don't like that I get so deep in thought that my head spins. And I do wish there were a few bigots... but since we don't have any active bigots around, I'll do my best to fill the position. ha ha... j/k... or am I?

I like the fact that this guild is about philosophies. I have an interest in the subject.
The problem is, that I'll actually have to sit down and read them.
*waves her copy of "Also sprach Zarathustra" (*prefers original language documents when she can read them*)* Hey, I started, I just haven't gotten very far yet.. sweatdrop
For this reason as well, I'm in favour of the Teacher, Teacher thread. I would prefer it, though, if - when handing out resources/links - they'd list something besides Wikipedia.
I'm distrustful of its contents and have gotten in the habit of checking it against information found elsewhere because of this. If people were to just give more links to begin with, it would somewhat lessen the trouble on my part, although I can't entirely blame them if they don't, as I'm the one being picky about it.
Alright, so that's two things I like/dislike, but that just saves me from posting here again. All hail efficiency.

Maze I'm distrustful of its contents and have gotten in the habit of checking it against information found elsewhere because of this. A good idea. There's one feature that I would love to see on wikipedia, and that's a convention where editors list their sources when editing, and add more external links. Quote: I think we need some way of finding philosophers and bringing them here without the clutter of unintelligent people. I'm not sure this is the place, but I highly suggest inviting chaoticpuppet and chocfudge. Anyway, I like the topics, but dislike that people don't always present their line of reasoning; especially if others have conflicting opinions.

As soon as I get the time I have some more in depth info on Socrates I'm gonna post that come from book sources and not an online encyclopedia. I also have a friend or is a professor of philosophy and ethics so I can call upon his source as well.
