As a Gnostic Christian (Perticularly Valentinian) and a Student of Jewish Kabbalah and Jewish/Christian Mysticism, I would recommend looking into Jewish Kabbalah and Jewish Mysticism. The Books of Enoch and The Sephir Yetzira and the Zohar are all great works of Jewish Mysticism.

Thank you. Do you know any good books on these things that I could possibly check out at the library? I really don't wanna convert til I know what I'm converting to. Cuz I happen to be very opinionated I don't wanna go into something with a different viewpoint than the religion calls for.

You could download the Sephir Yetzira onto your computer, as well as the Zohar(I think). It should be in the e-book link to hermitcs.org/*more stuff here* on the first page.

They will be under the Jewish Kabbalah section on the page it takes you to.

EDIT: You will also need Adobe Reader to be able to open them, I think it gives you a link you can download it from.

You should get like a disk or something, and download them onto that; that way they're not on the computer, and you can take 'em anywhere to use on any computer.

I would not recommend reading the Sephir Yetzirah or the Zohar unless you're already very deeply involved in the study of the Qabbala. You will not understand a single bit of it. One book I do recommend is "The Tree of Life" by Israel Regardie. Rent it from your library and read it a couple of times. It's a good starting point, if you're interested.

Once again, thank you.
And sorry chaotic. Due to my little brother our cd-rom and floppy drive on this computer are no longer available. Being in his terrible twos he yanked out the rom drive which messed up the floopy. Oh the joy of little siblings.

I have more to say about the Zohar. While the Sephir Yetzirah was the book that first gave mankind the idea of Kabbala, it was the Zohar that defined and refined the idea.

It's also damn long. The entire book is several thousand pages long. I saw the book today for the very first time in it's entirity. It was divided into 23 volumes, and altogether was bigger than a set of encyclopedias.

See for yourself: Zohar

Well, the book I'm reading (What I Wish My Christian Friends Knew About Judaism) is really well-written. Perfect for me since this is the first time I've ever looked into Judaism. It gives a brief description of all sorts of things. Rabbis, cantors, the Torah, the Zahor, how different Jews follow different beliefs, even the box in front of the house (forgot what it's called sweatdrop ). I'm only on like the tenth "chapter" or so (another good thing about it, the descriptions are like 1-4 pages long so it's fast to read) but so far I'm getting quite a bit of information. But I have some questions since I don't think I'll get this far in the book for a while and I've been curious about it for a while.
1) What are the Jewish beliefs about sex, sexuality, and marriage? I'm sure it depends on what kind of Jew you are (sounds like it anyway in the book) but could someone tell me?
2) Christians debate over whether the Bible is literal or symbolic almost all the time (see Fire Fall if you are part of that guild lol). Do the Jews believe the TNK is all literal or do they find it symbolic?
3) Since Judaism preaches that Jesus isn't the Messiah do followers believe in the Holy Spirit or any such means to communicate? Or is that ten person meeting the only communication form they have?

I think it pretty much parallels christianity in regards to sex. I.e. heterosexual married couples can, those who are not either of those, cannot.

Yea but that dude in Fire Fall said he converted from Judaism to Christianity and he's married to a dude.
