Another thing I thought of. When I read a book for pleasure I read it fast. But with an assigned reading like from a textbook I read more slowly, and its not because I want to get the information. MAybe its like when you are excited about something or like doing something you move fast, but when you have to do something you dred, washing dishes at home for me, you move more slowly.
I'm like that. I can read damn fast, but there are some textbooks where it's like they went out of their way to suck the fun out of the words.
We pay an arm and a leg for these books; the least they could do is keep them from being too soul-suckingly boring, right? wink
