 Japi walked slowly down her own path, careful to shine the light where she was about to step. It's not that Japi was afraid of the dark, she just didn't like not being able to see what she was stepping on. But what's this? Japi stooped over to pick up the paper hat and looked it over. Nothing out of the ordinary. She flashed her light around the immediate area, looking for any sign of the little thule. Nothing. "Xia?" her voice quivered a little as she called out the name. "Are you hiding somewhere around here?" She didn't really expect a response, but the sound of her own voice comforted her a little. With her courage slightly bolstered up again, Japi continued on down the hall, still slowly and carefully.

Sika-chan Sika sighed as she walked down the hall, her eyes constantly darting around, taking in her surroundings. She was worried now, for she had no clue as to what happened to Xia and now she was wandering around in a dark basement with some creature on the loose. Any other day she would have just said "******** it I'm outta here." But with the combined reasons of the place being locked down and the fact that she actually cared that Xia was missing, made her choose otherwise. She slowly came toward a deadend and slowled down a bit as she slowly caught sight of a hunched figure. From what she could tell it didnt seem to looke like Xia, so she approached slowly, but approached nonetheless, her hands flexed out at her sides, ready to defend herself. She was nearly there when the thing's head shot up and it took off down another hallway. She had jumped at the thing's movement, and took a few steps forward as it began to get up. But it was already down the hallway, before she could have even really reacted. " s**t," she said breathly, still recovering from the shock. She gazed down where the thing had been crouched, and her eyes narrowed. Crouching down, she reached out toward the strands of hair with a gloved hand, her fingers gently grazing the blood as she lifted the strands from the ground. She brought the strands and blood to her nose, taking in a deep breath. Her eyes darkened as she recoginzed the smell of blood, yet didn't recognize the smell laced within the hair. She growled and stood up from the ground, wiping the blood off on the leg of her pants. " s**t, either that thing was bleeding, or it was eating something." She paused as a small frown crossed her face. " Of someone..." With that thought now vivid in her mind she took off down the hallway the thing from before had gone. She didn't care if it'd be smarter to walk rather than run, something was wrong.  Is what you see as the creature continued to run. It knew you were following and was doing everything in it's power to either lose you or out run you. However you notice the creature moving oddly, using the wall as a guide. With your hightened scense of smell you could tell it was wounded somewhere...

With her courage slightly bolstered up again, Japi continued on down the hall, still slowly and carefully. You continue on down the hall, finding nothing more in the darkness. You travel the entire hall until you come to a fork in the path. Surely a basement isn't supposed to be this confusing, but it was! Which way do you go? Perhaps there's a clue? As you look upon the ground you see a few drops of blood leading down the right path. Do you follow or go to the left?

Risika's eye narrowed as she caught another glimpse of the creature. She was usprised that she even caught up with it. She figured she had paused for too long at the dead end and had no chance of catching up with it. But after watching the creature's shadow moving and breathing in the air around her deeply, she soon found out why. The creature was walking oddly as if it had no idea what was around it, and was moving as if it was injured.
Maybe the thing is blind, she thought to herself. Then again, with her enhanced sight, she often forgot that many others couldn't see well in the dark. She sighed and took in a deep breath as she began to sprint after the creature. She needed to catch this thing, for she had a few questions for it.

The sight of the blood sent shivers up Japi's spine, and for a moment she considered taking the path to the left, but decided that following the blood might end up being much more productive. She readied her can of pepper spray in her left hand, placing her index finger at the top, poised to push it down and spray anything that was in her way. She tip-toed down the path to the right and her mind wandered, imagining all the things that blood might have been from. She prayed that it was not Xia's and shuddered at the thought, increasing her pace slightly. It's a shame Risika-san didn't come down this way, she thought to herself. I'm sure she would be more useful for this sort of thing than me.With her right hand, she shined the flashlight before her, darting back and forth from the blood to the hallway in front of her and back again. She didn't want to loose sight of the blood, but she certainly didn't want to find what had caused it without ample warning, even if it was Xia. ((Note: Japi is primarily right-handed, so her flashlight is currently more important to her than the pepper spray.))

As a matter of fact the blood seemed to have stopped as you passed the point of origin. From somewhere behind you, a low banging can be heard. It's rapid and accompanied with a scream for help.

At the sound, Japi whirled around to face the other direction, pointing the pepper spray out. When she realized the type of scream that came with the pounding, she lowered it and raised her flashlight up and called out. "Xia?" she called out, loudly, down the hall. She waited for a reply a moment, praying that if it was the child, that she was okay and then started walking toward the sound, somewhat more quickly than before, but not quite running yet.

Ballentine Step by step the creature was starting to slow down. As it's feet came to a stop it leaned against the wall for support, slowly sliding down onto the floor. A soft wimper of pain carried down the hall followed by a few sharp intakes of breath. With a smirk painted across her face, Risika ran up to the creature, keeping a safe distance as she came up behind it slowly. " Well, well! It seems I caught up to you. Who are you, and where is Xia?!" She had figured by now that the creature would have SOME idea as to where to young thule may be. The basement wasn't that big....was it?

As Japi hunted around she'd hear a low banging on a door. A thud thud thud. The sound echoed down the hall before a muffled scream of anger was heard. Little hands smacked on the door as Xia cried out in frustration into the darkness. "Someone open da dooooor!"
And the instant that Japi did open the door, Xia came tumbling out with tears running down her face. "I want my mommy!" She cried, clinging to Japi's leg.
Meanwhile...
Risika's words seem to fall on deaf ears as the boy sat there shivering. He was frightened to tears, curling into a tight position. There upon his arm was a small but deep wound, much like a bite mark. Cautiously threw silver bangs he glanced over at the woman, the fear well noted in his eyes.
Instantly the power kicked on, the sounds of the generators finally starting filled the halls with a low humming sound. The instant light caused him to shield his eyes, though was now left unhidden from the absence of shadows:Timidly the boy looked up at Risika once his eyes adjusted to the light. Tears of a child began to fall from his eye as he reached up to whip them away, sniffling as he babbled: "I .. I on-ly w-wanted ta be loveded..." Shoulders shook with every sob, his body once more recoiling into a tight position.
Footsteps down the hall alerted the presence of the security guards, all of which had drawn weapons as they approached Risika and the boy. "Ma'am step out of the way." On officer stated sternly, another messaging to Ballentine over the walky-talky that they had the trouble maker in custody.
Upstairs...
Ballentine looked all but relieved as the lights once more turned on, taking a look around. There was mixed emotions all over the group of faces and Ballentine knew that half would never return thanks to today's experience. Well.. There went the publicity stunt.
Thanking everyone for coming, and having security open the doors she was allowing everyone to leave after a brief search of personal belongings. Hopefully no one was trying to run off with museum artifacts...
The moment Ballentine received the news on the culprit being captured, she responded with a message to bring him to her office.

It was easy enough to guild the child up to Ballentine's office, the boy following willingly as he was unfortunately caught. Inside the office Ballentine learned who the child in fact was. Lucas and Raul. It was amazing to see a child combined at such a young age. However with their abandonment it was easy to understand how hatred had won over love, envying anyone who had the one thing they lost.(( So yeah crappy ending but I just don't have the inspiration to continue it and it was moving slower than molasses in winter. D: Shoot me or what not but this is the end of the metaplot.. Not sure if I'll attempt another one later. Thanks again to those that stuck through it, specially Sika and Japi. I love you two. =D Everyone else thanks for the amount that you had done. X3 I do apologize for the quick ending but I don't feel like dragging it on any longer. ))

When Xia made contact with Japi, the can of pepper spray flew out of her hand and clattered to the ground. Japi reached out to hold the poor scared child and comfort her. "It's alright sweety," she said in a soft voice. "We'll find your mommy." She picked Xia up and sat her on her hip and and fumbled with the flashlight, looking for the can of pepper spray. The lights turned on. Japi mumbled a word of thanks to Lady Luck and put the flashlight away and decided the pepper spray would no longer be needed and started heading back for the basement entry. They made it quickly and easily enough, and Japi carried Xia all the way to Ballentine's office. She was glad the whole ordeal was over and that Xia was safe, but she felt sorry for Lucas and Raul. ~~~~~~ (( 4laugh Yay! It's finally over! Not that I didn't enjoy it... it's just it was moving so slow! xd But that's okay. heart I was glad to participate and would love to do it again anytime. heart Thank you for the wonderful opportunity. ))
