gah, theres Like Two seriously kick assss bands that are local, La Dispute and The skies revolt, im not really into a lot of punk but i like them and the misfits

Well, I don't have a favorite Punk band/artist, but I hear a lot of Punk actually.
I hear The Clash, Sex Pistols, Social Distortion, Misfits, and some Post-Punk bands and artists.
About Pop Punk, well, I mostly hear Green Day and Blink-182, but i could say that from all this list Green Day is my favorite.

Green Day, STAY OUT (who I locally support), and a Japanese band called Maximum The Horemone, whose style varies from Punk to Scream Metal, but are ultimately called Nu-Metal music.
