Crumpet Lord
Question:

If knowledge is power, then why is the barbarian so awesome?

Their extensive knowledge of how to beat anything they come across into a fine paste, possibly?

Or maybe, they really aren't powerful? Due to their non-intelligent war cry:

Sharpas a hammer! Strong as a tack!

Mahahaha. Muhahaha. Plonk.

Ok, i got some more miniatures yesterday... along with 5 plastic swords i bought...

here's what i got:

1x terror wight
1x quaggoth slave
1x ogre war hulk

1x elemental wall
1x goblin blackblade
1x arcanix guard

1x skeletal legionnare

My rarest was the ogre war hulk... but the tiefling is just cool.

The War Drums minis look good, although I notice several are Eberron-themed (like all the warforged stuff). Tiefling blademaster is indeed cool, though from a purely aesthetic standpoint, I would have wanted Shuluth: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/war_drums_gallery/Shuluth_Archvillain.jpg

Gotta love those epic-level mind-flayers!

Ah, Shuluth is just cool... but everybody uses mind flayers.

I mean, who uses a tiefling as their main antagonist?

i do, his name is Bellamin Soulaxe, Tiefling ftr/blackguard.

Don't know why i keep updating the list, but...

Races of stone

and a heap more minis.

Races of stone rules. I mean, a gnome only prestige class with a tenth level ability called 'Killing Joke'

(Basically a death attack but without the attck, and they must be seen. A sense motive vs. a perform (comedy) check or a will save can stop it)

Somebody is gonna die by a bunch of gnome wild plains outriders on dire badgers, headed by one of these guys (divine tricksters)

Muhahaha.

Your D&D collection is about to become obsolete...

4th Edition in 2008!!!

They're getting rid of erinyes and turning succubi into devils. How lame is that... rolleyes

Chances are I'll keep using 3.5 for a fair while anyway just so I can get a bit of use out of all the supplement books I have. Mind you, as curious as I am about the new edition I'm really pissed off about what they did with the website.

New website... eh. For now it's just shilling the 4th edition (plus whatever 3.5E products trickle out this year). I'm assuming when the real (usable) content comes out, it'll be for paying members of that whole Gleemax D&D Insider thing. I'm not as bothered about the changeover to the new edition as some people might be, as I used to be more of a collector than a player, so there's a sizable portion of stuff that I own but have never used in actual play.

Having played all editions up to and including 3.0 (my last group broke up prior to 3.5), I do feel the current combat mechanic is a little too clunky at times in comparison to earlier editions, so I'm glad they're working on streamlining that. So far I like some of the things they're planning on changing, but there's also a fair bit of stuff that just seems pointless and/or dumb. I dunno. I'll probably pick up the 2nd printing, after they've caught all the typos from the 1st one.

The teaser video is kind of obnoxious. I get that they're trying to be funny... but they're not...

It's the whole D&D insider thing that has me annoyed. Before they made the changes they had a nice website with plenty of free content help players and DMs alike improve and expand the game. None of it was vital - it was just there if you fancied it. Now they seem to want to charge people $10 a month to not only access that, but also to get the full contents of the books that they already have to pay large amounts of money for.
