Mashaka chuckled a little listening to Kahawia speak. "Think nothing of it, love," he said. "I was more than happy to." Even as he spoke, he plotted in the back of his mind and wondered how he might convince this sweet, innocent cheetah to be someone Mama and Papa would be perhaps slightly less than proud of.
The speed and suddenness with which she flung herself into the water startled him, startled him so that he had to stagger back a little. It wasn't quite far enough, though, and he was splashed in the face from all Kaha's frolicking. He reached up a paw and wiped the excess water away from his face. For a moment only was he frustrated, then he saw Kahawia gleefully washing herself clean. She glittered and shone in the low light, and though she was pretty before, she was even more lovely fresh and clean. Mashaka grinned broadly, almost greedily, but managed to keep a tight hold on his air of propriety. "You look lovely, m'dear," Mashaka commented from afar, holding his ground carefully. He'd let her come to him.

She giggled at him and continued to clean herself off. "Well ok then, I wont!" she said smiling.
The mud was as good as gone now. However, Kahawia was had the metallity of a youngling and simply could not resist playing in the water now. She headed back towards Mashaka casually. When she heard his comment, she giggled. "Someone is just full of compliments today." When she was almost where Shaka was standing, she started kicking water at him playfully and giggling like a mad man.

He listened to her giggle and watched her frolick in the water and stared. When she commented on his compliments he managed a sheepish half-smile, but the devil's grin was gone from his face. She splashed him, and he bounded back and murmured, "Heeeyyy..." but his mind was elsewhere; he was distracted.
In fact, he was disgusted with himself and the thoughts he'd been having. A voice in the back of his mind, a very strong voice, was telling him he couldn't possibly go through with this. He could never do that to this innocent, sweet little girl. Why, she was practically child! Mashaka was selfish, cocky, manipulative, and sleazy, but even he wasn't that low. He just couldn't take advantage of her. In fact, when he looked at her, for all her child-like innocence, all he could see was two other faces which he thought he recognized, but his brain repressed too quickly for him to properly ID. He shook it off.
It was time to take his leave of her.
Smiling bashfully as best he could, he bowed to her and said, "Miss Kahawia, I'm glad to have been of service, but I'm afraid I must take my leave of you. The day grows late, and I have some hunting to do before the sun goes down." It was a lie; he was quite well fed. No matter, though, she was none the wiser. "It was quite nice to meet you, and I wish you the best," he declared, and he did, he really did... in fact, he worried about her a bit after what he'd almost gone through with her. Chilled to the bone at the thought of it, he nodded to her once, then briskly turned and took off towards the sunset like a crook fleeing the scene of a botched crime.
((I thought it was probably about time to wrap this up, it's been a while. 3nodding Hope you don't mind...))

She laughed at him and trotted back towards the center of the water as he recoiled. She finally looked back at him once he called her name and instantly stopped laughing. It gets boring when friends leave.. "Well alright then.. Thank you again Mr. Shaka!" she called after him as he took off towards the sun.
Seeing as there was no reason to continue sitting in the muddy water, Kahawia got up, shook herself off, and lazily trotted the opposite direction.
((I don't mind (: It was quite fun 3nodding ))
