Great song, but the version that I've heard is pretty awful because of the singing. But it really is a great song.

People liked Astrud because she had a homely and simple voice, which was very different from the booming professional singers of the time.

I've always disliked "My Funny Valentine." The lyrics are dumb and the melody is weak, I think.
But the soloing is sooo fun on that song, you must admit - Reminds me of Green Dolphin Street in that sense. The chords themselves are really fun to play, which (in my mind) makes up for any lack of interest in the lyrics/melody.
As for the lyrics being dumb, isn't love always a little odd? Just my opinion...

Caravan is more fun to perform than to listen to. I HATE Route Sixty Six. Everyone and their dog knows that song. scream
Caravan is a fun song specially the arrangement tha my band plays it's simple but fun and unique. Route 66 is fun with an awsome vocalist at least that's what i think.

I like The Girl From Impanima. I'm a drummer and even though the Bossa Nova 2/3 patteren is kinda difficult at first it's still fun to play. I have been working on that rhythem for ever and to finally use it in a song is great, even if i cant play it that well.
I presume when you say 2/3, you're referring to 2:3 clave?
