(my sister made me watch the ending of XS3 again cos she wanted to. so prepare for angst on Vynn's part. oh, and before i forget, which frame does KOS-MOS have? version 1 or 2? i'm assuming 3's out of the loop since T-elos trashed that frame)
arrow ES Streich, Space Battleground; Optional BGM: T-elos - Xenosaga Episode III OST, Disc 1
Lowering the still-smoking buster rifle, Streich inspected the damage caused by the tandem attack from itself and the Ephraim. If that Cathedral-class Gnosis was even still alive, it didn't seem to be too keen on doing much more than drifting through space.
"Tch. I'm surprised the buster rifle didn't do it on its own."
Vynn began to turn his mech away, to confirm the locations of KOS-MOS and Hikari, despite the fact that he could easily do so with the ZERO System, but something caught his eye as he began to turn. Upon centering on what he had seen, and getting a good look at it, his eyes narrowed.
It was a carrier-class Gnosis, one of the whale-like creatures that he had been forced to witness KOS-MOS destroy herself on ten years ago.
[Optional BGM: Here He Comes - Xenosaga Episode II OST, Disc 1]
In his mind's eye, he saw the scene replayed in his mind on repeat. KOS-MOS leaping from the platform, D-Teneritas charged. KOS-MOS running head-first into the Gnosis, the stored energy of the attack exploding. Then nothing. Both KOS-MOS, and the Gnosis, gone.
Taking his right hand away from the weapon control stick, Vynn clenched it into a fist so tightly that his leather glove began to creak in protest of the strain being applied to it. The machinery in the cockpit hummed as a golden aura encompassed everything within, key sign of the ZERO System activating. But then the aura changed to red as his hatred, his anger, his sorrow, and his despair overrode the system.
"YOU b*****d!"
[Optional BGM: Advent One-Winged Angel - Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children OST, Disc 2]
White-hot light burst from the vernier engines of the ES Streich as it roared forward at over twice the speed it had departed from the Eldridge's hangar. The wings over the mech's shoulders flapped once, then spread out to either side as the hyper saber was held far out to the right, turning the craft into a grim spectre of death on a collision course with the carrier-type Gnosis.
As was wont to happen in such situations, over a dozen mixed Gnosis and Zilart decided they simply had to get between Vynn and the object of his abject hatred, lining up in two broken lines directly in the middle of his flight path, and firing a myriad of weaponry at the bullrushing mech.
If the Streich took any damage from these hits, it gave no indication that the damage was anything more than an irritation. In the cockpit, Vynn snarled, his entire form wreathed in the angry red aura, his normally-blue eyes burning a vengeful red.
"Get the hell out of my way!"
The mech leveled its left arm ahead of it, still wielding the twin buster rifle, and fired a pattern of low-powered buster shots. These shots weren't enough to significantly deplete the three-full-shot internal power pack, but they were more than enough to incinerate every enemy that stood between him and his target.
And then there was nothing between him and the carrier-type Gnosis. Letting an enraged, wordless cry filter into the battlenet, Vynn manipulated his craft to tuck in its left shoulder and shoulder-ram the Gnosis with enough speed and force to knock it completely out of line. The vernier engines flared even hotter, driving the Gnosis down toward the deck of the Intrepid.
The alien impacted against the assault star cruiser with enough force to send a noticeable jolt throughout the entire craft. An instant later, the Streich slammed to the deck beside it, armor plates groaning under the impact force of the mech's landing.
Slowly, definitely menacingly, the maroon mech approached the stunned Gnosis, deactivating the hyper saber and releasing the weapon emitter to drift in space, attached still to the craft by the power cable. Stopping right beside the Gnosis, the mech drew back its right arm, hand-like manipulator balled into a fist, and slammed the fist down on the Gnosis, hard.
[Optional BGM: Sorrow - Xenosaga Episode I OST, Disc 1]
The balled metal fist pierced the alien's soft flesh like wet tissue paper, splattering the Gnosis' equivalent to blood and other ichor out onto the mech's frame. The heat rod retracted fully into the shield on the left arm, before that arm likewise dealt a flesh-piercing punch down to the alien below it. If Vynn heard the alien's pained outcries at all, they were nothing less than music to his ears.
"You b*****d..." he muttered, his voice heavy with emotion, and tears beginning to pool in the corners of his eyes. His body, however, retained the full capacity to continue pummeling the Gnosis into a meat paste. "You ******** b*****d..." Slam. Splatter. Slam. Splatter. "If it weren't for you bastards..." Slam. "Then KOS-MOS wouldn't have..." Slam. Slam. "...wouldn't have..." Slam.
Streich drew back its right arm once more, covered from shoulder to fingertip in the Gnosis' gore...

Hikari's eyes followed the movements of Hano for the past 3 minutes. His targets had quickly changed, towards the Gnosis like ship and somehow as she overheard the words on the intercom she couldn't help but feel a sense of pity towards the man. She lowered her eyes looking towards KOS-MOS and watched her for a moment.
"KOS-MOS..." Hikari murmured.
KOS-MOS tipped her head back allowing her body to accelerate towards the right arm the the E.S. Ephraim. "The only thing we can do is watch, Hikari. At this current rate the Gnosis will be dead, there is no need to add additional manpower to this task."
"But..."
"Captain Hano used to be part of the KOS-MOS project. Perhaps he had grown sentimental for my being over the last battle. But what he does not know..." KOS-MOS landed upon the shoulder of E.S. Ephraim and stood up slowly. "Even though I may have dissapeared and my body may have been heavily damaged, it will take alot more then 1 Gnosis to destroy me, as Shion Uzuki has made me that way."
Hikari sighed looking away from the battle. KOS-MOS turned around on the ES' shoulder looking down upon the Cathedral like Gnosis. "Faint life signs." KOS-MOS announced. And then she leaned forward the ice spike appearing once more on her back and summoned the same attack she used to defeat the small Gnosis earlier.
"Hano..." Hikari murmured finding herself looking towards the battle. Her eyes caught ahold of all other Gnosis and Zilart retreating. She sighed, her eyebrows knitting together as Rose appeared on screen to inform her of the Gnosis and Zilart retreat.

arrow ES Streich, Space Battleground; Optional BGM: Albedo - Xenosaga Episode I OST, Disc 2
Somehow, some way, the Gnosis was still alive. Over three quarters of its body had been smashed and beaten into a bloody pulp that froze in the cold of space, but the thing was still twitching, letting out its pitiful cries of pain.
And above it stood the ES Streich, almost completely covered in the partially-frozen Gnosis ichor, its blood red eyes staring down passionlessly at the near-dead alien lying on the deck of the star cruiser. "Suffer. Feel the pain that wracks your body with every passing moment. Know that pain pales in comparison."
Turning away from the Gnosis, the Streich focused its sensors on the distant Gnosis command ship, running a multispectrum analysis of the enemy. With the dying carrier-type Gnosis left to its fate on the deck of the star cruiser; which was not in question, considering the quartet of AMWS marching across the capital ship's deck toward it, the Streich crouched and then blasted off the ship in a flare of vernier exhaust, now aimed directly for the Gnosis command ship.
[Optional BGM: Rhythm Emotion - Gundam Wing OST, Operation 4]
As the distance between Streich and the Gnosis increased, the red aura began to fade, slowly being replaced by the normal golden aura of the ZERO System. As that aura faded, he regained more and more control of himself. The first thing he did was open up a direct channel to KOS-MOS and Hikari.
"Sorry you two had to see that. It's just how I get sometimes. Keep the enemy busy for me, would you? I'm going to take out that command ship."
Vynn could see the type of enemies that were rising before him now. They were all Ashmed Bapuz types, the blade-tailed, ES-sized Gnosis (the kind that Jin self-destructed the Asher on). ZERO System alerted him to a Bapuz coming in from the left. Vynn's eyes flickered in that direction, before he lashed out with the left arm, striking the Gnosis in its 'face' with the shield.
Not even bothering to finish off the stunned alien, the Streich continued forward, its pilot focused on the Gnosis command ship in the distance. Another Bapuz rose above the mech, its entire body coiled to strike down on the maroon craft like the Reaper's scythe. With a burst of sideways thrust, Streich merely slipped out of the creature's path, and continued on toward its target. The Bapuz halted its momentum and turned to follow, but a stray space laser beam from the deck of the Intrepid caught the alien in full, vaporizing it on the spot.
Far ahead, a pair of Bapuz planted themselves in Vynn's path, deciding, wisely, that it might be more effective to use their ranged beam attacks than to try and get in melee range. Crossing its arms over its torso, Streich passed between the two of them, striking out with the hyper saber in its right hand, and the plasma heat rod in its left hand, to cleave the two Gnosis in half at their centerpoint. It then passed them by, ignoring the explosions they caused behind it.
As it had been dealing with those two, another eight had lined up to open fire on it. The craft surged forward, the hyper saber lashing out to cleave asunder the Gnosis on its right, followed almost immediately by the next, three meters ahead on the left.
"Just get out of my way!"
The heat rod lashed out, glowing a pale blue in the darkness, and burned through the third Gnosis, as the fourth one slid in behind the Streich and prepared to fire on its back. Reacting almost precognitively, the vernier engines threw the Streich to the right, the first beam missing by a hairsbreadth. The mech completed an arc turn, lashing out with the heat rod. Before it even knew what had hit it, the Gnosis was already bursting into nothingness.
A pair of high-mobility shielded AGWS units dropped down in front of the Streich, firing their beam rifles at the remaining four Gnosis. "Leave this to us, Captain!" one of the pilots called. "You handle the command ship!"
Vynn smirked, nodded, and then ignited the vernier engines, blasting between the two AGWS and roaring toward the command ship, bypassing the attacking Gnosis with such speed that they saw nothing but a maroon blur shooting between them.
And then he was upon the command ship. But instead of immediately attacking the massive Gnosis, he flew up along its superstructure until he reached the point of the ship that his sensors told him was the creature's head/eyes/brain/bridge, coming to a halt directly in front of what he assumed would be the bridge on any human ship. His mech's eyes burned a bloody red as they stared deep into the creature.
"You're not needed here," Vynn announced on an open frequency, broadcast to everyone within comms range of the battle.
Streich brought back the hyper saber in its right hand, then raised the weapon high over its head and held it in both hands as the connecting power cable siphoned off nearly all the energy generated by the reactor, overcharging and overpowering the beam of the saber until it grew to an astonishing thirty meters in length.
"WE HAVE NO NEED FOR YOU IN OUTER SPACE!"
And then he slammed the overpowered saber down, cleaving it through the head of the Gnosis command ship. The vernier engines flared again, driving the mech down the entire breadth of the command ship, the blade still embedded in the alien the entire way. Energy began to crack and sizzle down the length of the cut as Streich reached the bottom of the Gnosis and its hyper saber emerged into space once again, immediately cutting off to preserve power.
The Streich paused at the end of the bloody swath it had cut through the command ship, seeming to be grinning at the certainly-crippling damage it had caused, and then the explosions began. With white light spewing from the engines, Streich roared away from the crippled command ship. Perhaps KOS-MOS would be reminded of the R-Fang overdrive of her own ES, Dinah. It was certainly where he had gotten the inspiration for the overcharge strike.
