+1 for Erik's team!
Erik is the one who teached everything about singing and music to Christine. Without him, she would be a normal ballerina dancer like all the others. And once she get old.... Bye bye, no more dancing for you! What else is left to do in her miserable little life? Quetting some money in the street and dying from hunger or cold.
What did Raoul did for Christine? Except "saving" her from the "evil ghost", of course. Hmmm? Oh yeah! He bought her some expensive stuff. Big deal! If you compare his talents and capacities to Erik's, he would be nothing without all his fortune.
Oh! I almost forgot. How did this war between Raoul and Phantom began? Because of Christine, of course. She's the one who got scared like a chicken when she took off the Erik's mask. Yeah, I know that the man yelled at her and insulted her at the same time. And? Think about it! Why did he hide himself for so long? It's all psychological. He was more mad about his appearance and afraid that Christine wouldn't love him anymore after seeing his face. No one in this world was able to show him some love and compassion. He grew in hate and darkness. You can't blame him for that.

It depends on which version on who Christine should've ended up with.
I think she would've been better off with Raoul in the Leroux and Kay version because Erik was wayyy too old for Christine. He was in his 50s-60s and she was barely an adult.
On the musical/movie version...hmm...it's a bit conflicting. Raoul is always looked down upon in this version which makes me sad. He only bought her the ring (from what I can recall) and he risked his neck (literally) to save Christine. And the actor who played him (Patrick Wilson) did ALL of his stunts. 'He's a pansy man' my a**. At that time, girls at Christine's age and social class wanted to marry rich. With Christine's situation, Raoul basically gave Christine what girls at that time dreamed of.
Erik is...special. Christine did show deep feelings for him, and as much as any E/C fan would want them to be together, what the hell is going to happen to them? It's not like she'll be a star and they'll live happily ever after in the underground Batcave. Erik killed people and he doesn't have the best morals. It's like saying 'murder is okay for Erik' and 'You can't blame Erik for murdering innocents'. With that, Christine is not just going to fully accept him with open arms. Christine could've been a good thing for him but Erik basically ruined his chances. And it's not like she'll say "Oh my sweet Erik, you are so beautiful!" after she'll unmask him and find out that her angel was some deformed guy. She didn't even know his name in this version.
Edit: Damn...I'm just rambling. xp
