I've actually spoken to his wife before, (ages ago in a chatroom), and I've been reading her husband's comic for years. I briefly heard about this somewhere and kind of dismissed it, but felt it too random to find here in my mormon guild on Gaia. I read the details and made a donation.
This country's seriously got to do something about insurance companies and the cost of medical attention. It's criminal to charge more than anyone can afford on his own for something he litterally cannot live without.

Thank you everyone for your help and prayers! They did it! They raised $10,000 and then some in 13 days! Now they can afford the surgery and everything else. Huzzah!
