Welcome, One and All! Welcome, welcome, one and all, to a thread of extraordinary proportions. This thread does not house a child, nor any sort of pet. Oh no, this thread hosts a dream. A dream of a woman desperate to fill the void in her life with a small, not-quite-human baby.
Read on, if you desire. And always remember to dream.

Theresa St. Croix. Name: Theresa Anabelle St. Croix Age: 26 years old. Gender: Female Astrological Sign: Cancer Birthdate: July 23rd
Theresa was born among Hell's fire and demon parents. However, due to a past qualm with her father's bloodline, there was a very faint strand of human DNA in her genetics. Because of this thin line of human in her, she was born with what all humans had and demons hated: A soul. This soul, while not making her necessarily more human than demon, did put a damper on the relations with her mother and herself.
Her father made a choice: He would take Theresa and live above ground on Gaia. After a not-so-hard farewell, Theresa and her father moved above ground. She was raised by her father alone and was raised pretty much as a human. Her demonic abilities were put under a binding, giving her only exceptional abilities in pyrokenetics, and the ability to mold shadows to her will. Shadowbending, however, hurts. Theresa doesn't use it very often.
When Theresa turned eighteen, she moved out of her father's home outside of Barton and moved to Durem, to an apartment close to a university. She majored in literature and minored in Ancient Civilizations, and after graduating from college with six years under her belt, she began to write. She's a journalist for a teen magazine currently, and is hoping to write her own novel once her money situation is taken care of.
With the fragment of human in her, she's also grown up wanting what almost every woman wants at some point in time: A baby to call her own and raise on her own. She's vowed to be a better parent than her mother ever was, because her mother was never there. She wants a chance to prove that she will not be like her mother.

The Egyptian Cobra The Vial Requested is that of the Egyptian Cobra.
The Egyptian cobra (Naja haje) is a type of venomous snake native to North Africa and the Middle East. Its bite is extremely venomous, ten times more so than the Indian cobra. The Egyptian Cobra is the most common cobra in Africa and has caused the most deaths. It lives from the Sahara Desert to the Syrian Desert. The Egyptian Cobra, like all other cobras, raises its hood when in danger. It is also the largest of all cobra species with a maximum length of 300cm. This is not to be confused with the King Cobra, which is the largest of the venomous snakes. The King Cobra is found in a different genus and is therefore not a true cobra like the Egyptian Cobra.

Story Log Characters Included: Theresa St. Croix , Jeremiah St. Croix. (Father) Note: This? Is the beginning. The very beginning. I'll try to go in time with Theresa, but... I may get lost. >.> I haven't verified a time line just yet.Quote: Theresa was terrified.
It wasn't because she was in Hell, though that would scare most humans. However, Theresa wasn't quite human. She was a technical halfling demon, with only one percent of human DNA in her, among ninety nine other demonic DNA. However, this was exactly what had landed them in the Throne Room of the demon of Hell himself, Satan.
A human in Hell, even a partial one, had a soul. And that soul was either there to be punished, or not there at all. Jeremiah St. Croix held Theresa's hand as she hid partially behind her father, staring at the dark figure seated in the throne before them with wide red eyes.
The figure didn't speak, he simply stared past Jeremiah at the little girl who was hiding from him. This little girl, this little demon child, presented quite a problem for him. He took a deep breath, letting it out as a disappointed sigh. "You lied to me, Jeremiah." He began, watching the demon before him flinch a little.
"You knew I was human before--"
"And you told me I had destroyed every bit of human in you." He tutted at Jeremiah, shaking a finger at him in a condescending manner. Jeremiah didn't flinch when he was interupted, he simply held Theresa behind him.
The four year old didn't understand what the problem was. Why couldn't she stay with her Mummy and Daddy in Hell? They were demons, too, weren't they? Wasn't she? She frowned, and moved around Jeremiah, standing in front of him. "S-Sir." She began quietly, biting into her lower lip thoughtfully.
"I don't understand why I can't stay." She sniffed and rubbed at her nose, watching him with a curious gaze now. She'd be afraid later, she wanted to know why she was being condemned for something her parents had done to her.
The demon eyed her, and lifted his lip in an amused smile. "You're lucky." He looked up at Jeremiah. "That I can relate your little girl to my own." Jeremiah took the insult with a sneer. Desdemona was not the same as Theresa, she was cold and evil. Theresa wasn't. And he hoped to any God who'd listen that she never would be.
Satan's eyes left Jeremiah's sneering face, to return to Theresa's small bubbly one. He rose, and walked to her. She walked forward a little, three steps in front of her father, and stared at the figure. He crouched down and eyed her. "You aren't a full demon." He explained gently, watching her. "In that little heart of yours." He tapped over her head, smirking. "You have one percent of human blood. That isn't a lot, but it is enough." She frowned at him.
"Enough for what?"
"A soul." He replied calmly, watching her. "In that heart of yours, your human blood created a soul. Souls only belong here if they are being tormented. You are not, so you cannot stay here." He replied calmly, looking at Jeremiah. "Which is why I have made my decision." He rose.
"Because you, Jeremiah, are the one who has lied and condemned your lineage to being souled, you will take your daughter to the Human Realm and remain there with her until she is deemed old enough to care for herself. At that time, she will decide on her alignment." He watched Theresa, eyes gleaming. "You may explain that to her once she is older. A four year old needn't worry about such things."
Theresa returned to her father, and hugged him. She wasn't quite sure what had to be so bad about a soul, but Jeremiah scooped her up, and disappeared with her. He appeared in the streets of Durem, holding her, and smiled a little. "Sleep, little love." He urged. She nodded to him quietly, and nestled into his neck to sleep.
Jeremiah sighed, and started walking. "How am I going to explain this to my mother." He muttered, already on the path to his mother's house.

Story Log
Characters Included: Theresa St. Croix, Jeremiah St. Croix, Aviera St. Croix (Grandmother.) Note: This is probably one of the few times you will see Aviera. She doesn't come into Theresa's history too often.Quote: Jeremiah shifted Theresa in his arms carefully, noting with an amused look just how big Theresa really was getting. She was four now, and he'd have to raise her by himself. That was gonna be fun. He sighed, and used his now-free arm to knock on the door before him, leading into a quiant little house near the edge of Durem.
No one answered. Jeremiah fumed a little, and rang the bell, then knocked harder. "Ma!" He called, stepping back from the porch and looking up at the windows. "Ma!" No one answered him, and he sighed, slumping on the porch with Theresa in his arms.
It felt like an hour'd passed before the front door behind him swung open on a pair of loose hinges, slamming into the side of the door roughly. Jeremiah looked up quietly, and grinned gratefully when he saw his mother standing there.
Aviera arched an eyebrow at the vision of her son with a tiny demon in his arms, and sighed. "So they kicked you out of Hell, huh." She pointed out bluntly, glaring at him. "And you want me to take you in. Knowin' how y'father is."
Jeremiah flinched, and opened his mouth to interupt. Aviera continued. "And what's this? You've brought me a grandbaby! Practically naked in those clothes, you bring me the spawn of a demon!" She glared at him. "You put me in a damn fine predicament, Jeremiah. For once, you'd think you would think for others and not your damn se--"
"Ma!" He snapped, glaring at her. "I came because of Theresa." He spoke in a cold, dark manner. "She's not a pure demon, because I wasn't born one." He gulped, and watched his mother, rising with Theresa in his arms. "We need a home, Ma. I can't go back to Hell with Theresa. She's not allowed there."
Aviera stared at the tiny figure in his arms, and sighed, rubbing her eyes. "Your father--"
"Dad will take us in." He glared at her, and shook his head. "You know he'll bend with Theresa. This is your only granddaughter. The only one." He watched her. "You can't tell me to just take her out on the street, Ma. That's not what you spent years teachin' me." Jeremiah sighed again softly, and watched her. "I need your help, Ma. Me and Theresa... We don't have anywhere else to go."
Aviera stared down at her son, and sighed a little. She moved to the side of the door, making Jeremiah grin a little. He rose, carefully lifting Theresa, and started inside. Aviera made him stop by grabbing his arm gently. "... How old is she, Jeremiah?"
Jeremiah winced. "Four."
Aviera nodded a little, and took Theresa from him, going inside ahead of him. Jeremiah smiled a little, and looked up at the sky. He turned, and followed Aviera and Theresa inside.
"Tommy!" Aviera called, grinning slowly. "I got someone y'wanna meet, babe!"
Jeremiah groaned. "Oh boy."
