Classical musician here! Many great Christian works were written by composers who also wrote secular operas - many of our hymn tunes were originally secular folk songs with new words (my favorite - What child is this)
I know this might seem a little off-topic, but folk songs were the "pop music" of their day. Now, as then, there can be secular songs with uplifting lyrics, and beautiful harmonies. Of course, there's a lot of 'junk' out there too - we need to be picky!

I refuse to believe that secular music is "bad."
Am I seriously expected to believe that Mozart or Beethoven is bad? All kinds of music is wonderful!
The only music I consider bad is the kind that denounces truth, kindness and righteousness, as is often found in black metal/viking metal. But there are many genres with songs that promote anti-social behavior and hatred. That's the kind of thing we should avoid.
