Curling up near the den, Danzi ended up rolling onto his back and stretching out. He stared at the sky a moment before looking at the cub. "Something wrong?" He tilted his head a bit, holding a paw out towards Jasiri'ka.

Jasiri'ka was day-dreaming, so it actually took him a while to answer. He paused, letting out a soft confused "What?" before blinking. Seeing that his father had asked him a question, he shook his head a little too quickly.
Looking at Danzi's outstretched paw, he answered, "Jasiri has no... Uh... There's nothing wrong."

"You sure...? You can come curl up next to me to sleep if you want..." The lion offered a reasuring smile, patting the ground near him. Sleeping alone could be frightening, even he knew that. Then again, he'd also been plagued with nightmares most of his life.

"Really?" Jasiri'ka almost squeaked, and scrambled over to curl up beside Danzi. It seemed that the cub was only too eager to sleep with his father. Lifting up his head, Jasiri'ka smiled back at Danzi.
"Tomorrow we continue on journey?"

"Of course. Now get some sleep." Licking Jasiri'ka's cheek, Danzi settled down for sleep. A light breeze of the night ruffled Danzi's mane and what mane there was on the cub, proving a wonderful reprieve from the day's heat. Up above, the stars winked into view, shining down upon them.

A yawn escaped from the orange cub, and he lifted his head to look at his father's majestic figure before laying his head down again. Placing it on his crossed paws, Jasiri'ka yawned again. He was getting very tired and sleepy... The wind made him sleepier.
Moving to stick beside Danzi as closely as possible, he closed his eyes and smiled, "Good night... Father."

Purring a bit, Danzi started drifting off himself. "Good night.. My son..." Letting out a yawn, sleep soon overtook the older lion and dragged him down into wonderful, deep slumber.

"Mother!" Jasiri'ka exclaimed happily, pouncing his beautiful mother. Graceful looking, she had a pair of alert and bright eyes, coupled with a well kept pelt. On her maw is the warmest smile Jasiri'ka had ever seen, and he playfully batted her tail with a paw.
"Jasiri'ka..." The lioness smiled, and nudged him gently away. "It's time for me to go."
"Mother go where?" The cub asked, and stopped playing to to look at his mother. His tail swished behind him as he blinked, a mixture of feelings inside him.
"Somewhere far away..."
"Where? Can Jasiri'ka go too?"
"You have to stay here," His mother laughed heartily, and turned to walk away. She started to fade, and soon, Jasiri'ka was all alone. His mother had disappeared. The surroundings started to melt into darkness, and the cub shivered in fright. He squeezed his eyes shut, and let out a yell.
"Mother!"
Jasiri'ka jumped up, startled. He looked around him, and spotted Danzi behind him, and a blanket of stars above him. Was it all a dream? How real his mother had felt... How warm and happy she looked...
Jasiri'ka curled back up beside his father, but he did not feel like sleeping any more. He just wanted to make sure his father don't leave him like his mother did.

Awakened by the cub's cries, Danzi stretched and looked down. He was frightened, that much was clear. A nightmare... He'd had a nightmare. Oh, how well Danzi understood that feeling, being helpless... He'd been plagued since a cub by night terrors of his own, dreams filled with an unknown face....
Pulling the cub up onto his belly and mane, the adult gently ran a paw over his mane tuft and down his back. "It's alright, I'm here... You're safe..." He smiled, reasuring the cub. With Jasiri'ka on him, Danzi wasn't likely to go anywhere. It was a way to make him feel better, feel safer... To assure him that his father was going nowhere without him.

{How to end this? xD;;}
Jasiri'ka whimpered, shutting his eyes and hugging Danzi's belly. This was the first time in a long time, since he had anyone to comfort him from these horrible nightmares. Everytime it seemed that he would be with his mother again, she would turn and walk away...
He whimpered again at the thought, and opened his eyes.
"Father promise Jasiri not to go away?"

Running his togue over the cub's face, Danzi smiled at him. "No, I won't go away. And if I do, I promise I'll come back. Besides..." He grinned, giving Jasiri'ka a bit of a noogie. "Why would I wanna leave someone like you? Now, get some sleep... Too much later up and you'll sleep the day away."

Jasiri'ka smiled, feeling better at his father's words. He nodded and gave Danzi a nuzzle before closing his eyes again, making an attempt to sleep. If he don't get his rest, he might have no energy to move on the next day and will be too sleepy to enjoy himself as well.
He smiled as he slowly drifted off to sleep again.

A purr rumbled its way out of Danzi's throat as he watched the cub drift off. Smiling, he settled down and was soon off into dreamland. And for the first time in a long time, the dreams he had while not sleeping around the pride members were pleasant dreams.
