Mati canted his head. "How is it different? You're dirty, you get into water and you're clean!" He grinned. "Plus, when it's really hot the cold streams are really nice."
He plopped into the mud and rolled until no grey or white was visible on his body. His blue eyes peered out of a mass of grey-brown muck. "Now watch! I'll show you." With a lunge Mati ripped out of the sucking mud and trotted off through the undergrowth, following a faint trickle of water that had made the mud hole. It rejoined with a small, bubbling stream; grinning, Mati plunged in and dunkced himself.
The pup that came out was considerably cleaner, if not completely white. "See?" He asked. "Much better!"

Uhuru groaned. "It's just something I can't do!" He watched the pup disappear into the vegitation. "Why am I wasting my time with this maggot brained runt?" he asked himself. He waited for the thing to come back, even though the thought of jumping ship came up. After Mati's face peeked back into the clearing he responded with a roll of his eyes.

((I'm gonna end this, but feel free to post a response! Sorry I took so long to reply! <33 ))
Mat's face fell as the little lion-thing still refused to acknowledge the truth. He hadn't meant to hurt the thing, or get it dirty, but if it would just try to get clean again...
"C'mon, I can get you clean in no time!" He lept towards the leopard, prepared to drag him back to the stream if he had to.
Mikondo decided this had gone far enough. The leopard oviously wasn't going to accept an impromptu bath, and the blue jackal was tired of watching his ward splash in mud. It was getting late anyways. And Miremba... she was going to have his head for letting her pup get so dirty.
"Mati, that's enough." With one effecent movement he was in between the leopard and the pup. "Time to go home, kiddo." He grabbed the boy by the scruff of his neck and then turned to the Leopard.
"Good luck in your... quest, kiddo." His mouth twisted in a wry grin - as much as Mati's fur allowed it to - and then he was gone, trotting into the darker, deeper regions of the forest.
Mati groaned and stood placidly as Mikondo scooped him up. He never got to make friends...
"See you, lion-thing!" The pup called back as his guardian carried him away. What a pain.

Uhuru was raising his paw to scratch the dog as it started to leap at him. "No, you stupid-!" he started as the smaller blue thing appeared from he undergrowth. "Thank you, little blue thing." Manners, creatures with manners will be able to live. With a slight look of disgust, he watched the jackal carry the "wolf" away. Then he turned towards the opposite direction. "Note to self: stay away from this part of the jungle. I'd rather not meet one of those things again."
