I'm on a trip right now, so it's a bit harder to practice. I've been gone for almost 6 weeks now, but I had my little Casio shipped to me so I could practice a bit, but if it got destroyed, it wouldn't be worth as much as my expensive ones. Still, I have my clarinet, my chinese flute, and of course my keyboard. The woodwinds aren't getting much love, as I need to buy a box of reeds desperately. As for the piano though, I practice every day, probably a few hours at least.
I haven't been as inspired lately to actually play as much as work on nitty gritty technique exercises - the ones that kinda suck but leave you knowing the keyboard on a different level by the time you're done with them. Scales, modes, substitution scales, arpeggios, 4 voice counterpuntal improvisation (this one's freaking hard), and ending it with a runthrough of a few standards and/or nintendo themes (I have the mario theme note for note now).

Really? I prefer "bad" solos, myself.
I like to keep it real, or something. : P

For the month before my piano exam I was doing a minimum of 3 hours a day (except one day, when I sprained a finger).
And now, I'm so sick of all the technique (even though it's sort of amazing what beating yourself to a pulp can do), that I help my sister prepare for auditions and that's about it.

I like to practice whenever I get the chance. It's sort of a relaxation for me. You can just get all your ideas and put them into jazz, that's my opinion.
((Except when I sprained my wrist when I played too much bass. That sort of sucked......))
