La Belle Isolde The Raoul I saw in Calgary was pretty gay. He ran like a fairy, with the high fairy kick steps. My (male) cousin thought he was cute, lol. High fairy kick steps? sweatdrop Anyone else think this is fuel for the whole fop business? burning_eyes

Generally the Phantom is not but you never know.... It was amusing nonetheless.

You know these things?!? eek For me, names go into one ear and out the other (you should see how badly I do during history tests xd ) But knowing that stuff would be like me sprouting wings and flying to school everyday.

I only forget the names of people I know. xD
Seriously, I can't name any of the people I work with, but I can list you twenty Phantoms, and Christines off the top of my head, and probably tell you where half of them performed.

Leroux's discription of Raoul: "Beautiful blue eyes and the complextion of a girl." I found it on a signature a long while ago. Patrick wilson was sitting there like. "uhh...?" and gerry was in the other corner "*snort*" I might have it saved.... hold on.... Tada!

There was something on another site, I will go and find/ quote, because well it is funny, and descibes this well. Quote: Kristin Chenoweth wrote: Seriously. You know what bugs me? HYPOCRITES. THAT IS WHY RAOUL BASHERS ARE GETTING ON MY NERVES! You say that we shouldn't judge Erik just because of his appearance...well, aren't you doing just that, when you accuse Raoul-falsely, may I add-of being a 'fop' or a 'girly-man.' HYPOCRISY! Also, when Erik sleeps with a prostitute in a phic, he is 'trying to gain experience so that he can give Christine as much pleasure as possible,' and when Raoul does, he's a 'man-whore who doesn't deserve to sleep with anyone.' HYPOCRISY! So, please, people. Let us stop the hypocrisy. linkThat sums up my argument- though doesn't quite proof that Raoul ain't gay, unless you take him sleeping with a prostitute as confirmation he isn't.

...you make me smile, Draco.
I like the 'as shallow as a puddle in the the Gobi desert...' line.
But as to the argument at hand...I don't believe Raoul is gay, and I don't dislike him because he looks female..ish....his character just simply rubs me the wrong way. *Shrugs*
He reminds me of all the guys at my school that I wish I could smack with a two by four because they tend to invade my little personal bubble of personal space with their cocky and swaggering...ness...men like that annoy me. -_-

Raoul is not gay. Most people who think that are either Raoul-haters/bashers or diehard E/C shippers...or E/R shippers xd
He couldn't have been gay because was in the navy, and yeah he did cry in the book, but not in the movie (he was just teary-eyed). Anyone would cry if the person they loved was taken away from them, Ja?

He's not gay for crying out loud. He's married. Although I must say I didn't find him as manly as I hoped in the movie or the book. He is protective of Christene because he loves her.

Smoosh-Mellow Am i the only one that thought that Roaul was a litle gay?? I mean, he was WAY over protective of Christine, He had long, flowy hair, cried during Past the Point of No REturn and he just looked it. I'm not making a stern point if you think I'm wrong tell me, if you agree tell me. this is just opinoins not hardcore facts. i dont think that a crying overprotective guy with long flowy hair is gay. though, i admit i found him gay still with his manners and girly features. if you compare him to erik, he is so not manly!
