Hmmm...
Evanescence Linkin Park Greenday (but now that there's a Greenday fad I'm a little off them) R&B/HipHop (I'm not going to name every artist in this category that I like) Creed
And quite a few more.
I'm also a major sucker for Baroque music: give me Bach and Vivaldi anyday!
Holst is okay...Cage is cool...Beethoven is awesome...
But Bach is my favourite. J.S. Bach, in case I didn't make that clear enough. The Canons of the Musical Offering = heart !

I like a lot of things, and I gravitate inbetween them. I like some classical (not much, but some) some pop/rock-ish stuff, I can't stand pure pop, though. Um, a bit of rock is okay, but I'm not into the whole screaming random swear words crap, it drives me crazy. A few groups/artists I like are:
-Evanescence -Fleetwood Mac -Charolette Church -Josh Groban ( I haven't been listening to much of these two lately, but I do like them) -Muse -Jet
Um... there are more, but I can't think of them at this point

Charlotte Church. Her voice is..oh.my.god. They're really scared what will happen to it when she gets older. Have you heard the Beatiful Mind soundtrack?

Frustrated frydii wow alot of the same groups are repeated, there are alot of influential groups that are not jazz, but these are some of my faves
led zeppelin yes rush rem metallica smashing pumpkins mars volta sly and the family stone who bob dylan, and his hero woodie guthrie, and woodie's son(forgot his name redface ) and dylan's heir bruce springsteen bachman turner overdrive guess who hootie and the blowfish neil young skip james memphis minnie sister rosetta tharpe john lee hooker bb king ray charles funk brothers (motown backup) eagles xd again this is just some of my faves You mention the Funk Brothers. I think this is one of the greatest unsung bands of all time. have to totally agree, although Booker T and the MGee's have some pretty tight grooves as well

Whoo, I'm not even gonna try to list things that I listen to. It's easier to list what I don't listen to, which includes most classical, most rap, and some country. Pretty much anything else is fair game for me... Anything with a good bassist gets bonus points in my book, o' course.

I've heard a little bit of them once or twice (I really should listen more, they're a great group), but I instinctively titled them as metal. That'll probably change now, though, since I'm going to have to buy one of their old CDs. smile

I listen to just about everything. Rock, alternative, country, bluegrass, R&B, rap, hip-hop, classical, opera, pop, Brit pop, Russian techno and pop (especially in my Ukrainian friends' cars, lol), Latin, religious, and other genres that I can't think of at the moment. Flamingo dancing music gets annoying REALLY quickly though, lol.

I listen to everything, except the Mars Volta, I can't stand them.
But other than that I can listen to anything from Sir Mix-A-Lot to Bob Dylan
